Awesome Monday Morning
Wow what a great way to spend a Monday. Course was almost completely empty which was a shame since it was in great condition. Greens were fast and well maintained. Staff in the pro shop was super friendly even stayed a few minutes to finish up our conversation. Westminster National was a little more unique and quirky holes but both WN and Oakmont are amazing value for the quality of course. Wanna play at your own pace and enjoy that leisurely round Monday AM at Oakmont is for you.
Drought plays a role
Course is generally in good shape. You could tel the drought had its effects. The ranger did a great job moving a very slow playing foursome in front of us. The were late to the start and hitting three balls a piece. Ranger asked them to keep pace. Very much appreciated

Stacked tee times slowed down pace of play
First time
Went there for 1st time on Fathers Day, and it was extremely busy, which made the round very slow, even for our T times at 3pm. The course was in ok shape, a bit burned out for mid June. Some holes were very tight, so if you were not in the middle, you were in trouble. Overall, a nice, not thrilling, course to play if looking for something out of the ordinary. Wouldn't pay more than $40 to play here at any point...
So-So and SO SLOW!
The first 5 holes took 90 minutes and we had 3 groups waiting on almost every tee. The course had no marshall and took no measures to keep groups moving. It was PAINFUL.
We quit after 5 holes and drove to the Pro Shop. We asked to play the back if nobody was coming up 9. We went off and we played the back 9 in 90 minutes with no wait at all.
It turns out 2 slow groups held up eveyone behind them for about 10 groups and were never asked to speed up or leave.
We never got to complete the holes we missed on the front nine, but I felt like I salvaged at least 9 holes of good golf.
I will never return until the course makes it clear that slow play has been banned and penalties are enforced. Otherwise it's just a money grab and I'm not going to be handing them any more of my golf funds. Too bad, it could have been a fun birhtday round.
Excellent value
I like the course, and you can’t find a course this nice for the price. A FIVESOME held things up on the back nine, but my twosome still finished in slightly under 4 hours. Fortunately we were in no big hurry (retiree benefit).
