Eagle Ridge Golf Club - Pines Course
About
The Pines Course is one of three nine-hole courses at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood. The Links and the Ridge are the other two. The courses can be played individually or as three different 18-hole combinations. The Pines Course is named after the mature, tree-covered landscape. It and the Ridge Course make up the original layout at Eagle Ridge G.C. They were built over a sand and gravel quarry that was used to help build the Garden State Parkway in the late 40s. The unique and undulating topography is a result of this. The towering pinelands lend a sheltered feel to the course as well as a challenging element to the game. There are also strategically placed bunkers that come into play along the greensides.

12th hole Photo submitted by JimK950 on 10/05/2012
I like that there are 27 holes and each 9 is different
Very helpful staff, nice course. All-around good experience.
Pine to Links
Just not a big fan of this course, especially the links.
Too many blind shots and fairways with no carts allowed, not fun. Conditions were okay. Lots of ballmarks and unraked bunkers.
Not what it used to be, but still ok.
Some Tee boxes were chopped up but playable.
Fairways were in good condition
Bunkers were inconsistent. Some had 6 inches of sand others were bare bones.
Greens were inconsistent and much slower than they used to be. It was tough to get the ball to the hole or if you gave it extra, you blew the ball by.
They did a nice job clearing some brush and trees between holes.
The cartpaths has potholes and I spilled my
( $3 Gatorade. $4 with tip)
Overall Eagle Ridge is a fun course.
The staff is friendly.
As I left they were setting up for night golf. Looks like fun so maybe I’ll check that out in the future.
Awesome course
Well manicure great course people very nice very competitive course i would play this course all the time love it it is hard but great
Really enjoy the ridge in the Pines
The original Ridge and Pines Golf Course is a beautiful layout. Not crazy about the new nine it's a links layout with a lot of funky holes I would say five of them are not appealing to my eye which is a big part of enjoying around the Gulf if I can ensure that I would play the original 18 I would play the golf course quite a bit but because they can't guarantee it it's it's down on my list
great condition
The course was in excellent condition but I think they need to advise golfers to replace their ball marks on the greens....I've never seen so many unrepaired ball marks before. But other than that greens were excellent. Pace of play was slow due to the two guys we were paired with. We held up the group behind us and had a hole open in front of us.....that drives me nuts. Nothing to do with the course, but included it anyway. Enjoyable, challenging day of golf.
Tough Tract Needs TLC
Played Pines and Links from the blue tees and both were difficult. Very little sand in bunkers and greens were pockmarked with ball marks. Friendly staff and was able to complete round in under 4 hours.
Nice public track
Pace of play was excellent and course conditions above average. Definitely good value.
Surprise
I was expecting a typical flat New Jersey shore course but there were a lot of elevation changes, impeccable fairways and greens.
There are some really interesting holes, not too difficult however.
I’ll be playing here many more times.
July18 Pines/Links
Tee time on Golf Now for a single, expect to join up with at least a twosome, got paired up with a kid who wanted to play a quick 9, not this day, he lasted 5 holes.
Played the rest of the way by myself, not my favorite way to play, but the course was in good shape, had a beautiful day, and I hit the ball well, and enjoyed my day on the course.
The course was in good shape and nice but the fact that the sprinklers were on at 230 in the afternoon and got me soaked did not make me very happy .
Nice day
I have not been to this course in years. It was in great shape, tough if you didn't hit the ball straight. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. I would definitely play more rounds here
Play It While You Can
Sad to say that this course is coming under the knife or perhaps even disappearing altogether; you see, developers are submitting plans to local governments to redevelop the property into housing and commercial purposes. The course is presently surrounded by senior housing and has finally grown into a very nice golf course. It would be a shame to lose it. The layout is good with interesting variations of terrain and format. There are three nine-hole courses the first two are traditional northeast USA style presentations with tree-lined fairways ranging from flat to hilly with large firm greens; the newest 9 is a links style more open design. Pace of play is generally good on weekdays. If you haven't played here yet, you should seriously think about giving it a play while you can!
