Eagle Ridge Golf Club - Pines Course
About
The Pines Course is one of three nine-hole courses at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood. The Links and the Ridge are the other two. The courses can be played individually or as three different 18-hole combinations. The Pines Course is named after the mature, tree-covered landscape. It and the Ridge Course make up the original layout at Eagle Ridge G.C. They were built over a sand and gravel quarry that was used to help build the Garden State Parkway in the late 40s. The unique and undulating topography is a result of this. The towering pinelands lend a sheltered feel to the course as well as a challenging element to the game. There are also strategically placed bunkers that come into play along the greensides.

Beautiful Course
The course is in excellent shape. Except for the par 5s, the holes are short, averaging about 375 yds for par 4s. The woods are not in play and the rough has be mowed to ease play. There are many elevation changes and quite a bit of undulation on the fairways. Overall it is a picturesque course with a new-looking clubhouse and a very friendly staff. For what I paid, it was a great value. I would definitely return again when vacationing in the area.
a great find
a must play,
great layout
excellent condition
greens good
This course is a great challenge.
The links course at Eagle is a challenge from hole 19 right through to hole 27. A beautiful layout overlooking the 18 hole course, it calls for precision in almost every shot. Fast greens require skill.
Golf lover
Great course. Very helpful staff, marshalls visible all day. Played pines and Links. Both in great shape.
Missed information
Had to play same nine holes twice due to an outing golfnow should had been informed so that people like me could make a choice of choosing another golf course
could be better
went as threesome had to play the links course twice no problem we were told and got a better rate because of this a lot of the course seemed to be under repair and if you don't know the course your going to have trouble and we did one hole had a bulls eye on the fairway unless we were told this we would have never known that this was the mark to aim at another was a boulder that you were to aim at it was problem to a person who had never played there before
Challenging Course - Yardage Books Would Help
Played Links to Ridge. Two nines were very different. Links started with a blind par 5 and there were many blind to semi blind shots. Very few trees in play except at property boundaries. Was advised fescue had been recently chopped to make course more playable. Routing on Links is odd at times. Ridge was in better condition. Also has some blind shots and some holes present numerous problems. Greens on this nine are very undulating. They really need to provide yardage books for non-members so that you can obtain a better idea as to where to play shots
Interesting But Dissappointing
We felt that the condition of greens was poor to fair on both nines we played. The pace of play was 5+ There are interesting and challenging holes but overall I would not rush back
This is NJ?
A very nice course! Recently airated but played very nicely still. Looking forward to playing again!
excellent course with alot of sand traps. fully enjoyed playing here
great day of golf with old high school friends. will be booking an outing for approx 20 players prior to our 50th high school reunion.
Very nice course
Played 18 of the 27 holes and was in very good shape very friendly and pace was great a true 4 hour round.
Disappointed
Played this course many times over the years and I must say, it is in the worse condition that I can remember for May 7. Greens were aerated some time ago and still showed/effected putting. Tee boxes, fairways, and rough were worse I can remember. Looks like weed killer never made it to the grass this year.
Poor conditions
Course is in very poor condition from tee to green. I would not play again for at least a couple months
Early Spring Conditions
Staff was great. Course conditions were a little rough. A lot!! of rain 2 days before so course was wet and greens an fairways were recently aerated. Great layout will play again later in the season.
Great challenging layout
27 holes and played the links and the ridge courses. (You cannot pick which 2 you want to play as this is assigned.) Overall the layout is great with many challenges. It's cool you can play two different types of courses in one round. Links style and traditional. Took advantage of an aerification discount but overall did not have affect on play as it was during the tail end. Only negative was the cart died after 14 holes and got paired up with a member that says this happens all the time and is expected. Regular prices are a bit higher than it should be. Anything below $50 is worth it for this course.
18 out of 27 isn't bad
Played the course many times, this time on a very windy afternoon. The Pines and Ridge nines are still in very good condition- the Links however continues to be in bad shape. Very patchy fairways and greens have not gotten any better over the years. And the long ride there and back from the clubhouse is not much fun either. Seems like only memebers get to avoid the Links nine, public is always forced to play it first or second.
