Libitu lost in the shadow of Punta Mita
Libitu might be Greg Norman's best work. Norman's old Doonbeg Golf Club in Ireland was beautiful but that links had a couple questionable holes. Libitu - just 10 minutes away from the famous Pacifico and Bahia courses at Punta Mita - is pure from start to finish. I gave it five stars because of the surprise factor. Few golfers have heard of this spectacular course. It opened in 2009, hosted a Canadian Tour event in 2010 and kind of fell off the radar. It operates like it's still in its infancy stages. Our check-in at the tiny pro shop wasn't exactly efficient. The rental clubs were older than me (not really). From the third tee on, though, Litibu deserves nothing but praise. The ocean is a stunning backdrop for the par-4 third, par-3 fourth and par-5 18th holes. The 17th is a bit of a conversation piece. The short par-3 plays to a wild green. A pin tucked in the back left is a completely blind shot over the jungle and palm trees. I think it's a fun change of pace, just like the entire round.
Great resort golf.
Not super tricky but lots of fun. Conditions were not pristine, but I always had grass under my ball, and the preeens were slower but consistent with almost no imperfections.
Relaxing course
Free tacos and drinks on front and back 9. Say less!
Higuera Golf Course Favourite in Mexico
This course never fails to give us a first class experience, The staff, course lay out , course conditions and the views are all stellar! Highly recommend
Great Day
We came from Nuevo, 45 minute Uber. Greeted by friendly staff who got us quickly set up and organized. Interesting course, a little tight in spots. May want to bring a few extra balls. Golf huts with on holes 4 and 14 with delicious tacos snd beers for the taking. Additionally there are shots of tequila to loosen up the swing. Played with a great couple from Calgary. All in all, a great day.
Great golf course near Iberostar resort
My husband and I have golfed four times in this vacation. A great experience.
This course is a fun track
Staff members are engaged and very friendly.
The course is in decent shape on fairways and greens given the climate. Staff were watering throughout the day. The greens were a bit on the slow side but ran true. Mostly flat with manageable breaks. Bunkers were plentiful with hard packed to somewhat loose sand. Complimentary fish tacos and drinks overlooking the ocean on the 4th tee block and again after the 13th hole. Make sure to tip the staff as they are there to make your day! Great 19th hole outdoor bar for a cold one after the game. All in all, worth the trip and the money compared to more expensive courses around PV. Played 3X in one week, hardly saw other golfers while we were there with 11:00 tee times.
Amazing!
This course is worth the money! We had a very relaxing, enjoyable time playing. Staff was very friendly and the taco bars were delicious.
Beyond expectation.
Great golf course, friendly staff, only complain -slow greens. Looking forward to play there again.
This course was beautiful and we seriously enjoyed it
Mexican charm at its best, beautiful layout and the staff were amazing. My favourite course so far in Mexico and I have played six.
Not worth the money
This is a terribly expensive course for no good reason. First hole is crazy narrow along a street with massive trees giving very limited second shot.
There is only one hole with an ocean view. Great hole but that’s it
Free tacos and tequila at two stops but they don’t warn you that cart person is not free. Handed me a tequila shot and then wanted 220 pesos. That’s an expensive surprise.
The traps and grass around the greens is often thin and mucky.
Greens are long and slow. Good grass but different. Not professional grade for the money they ask.
It’s a long drive from PV so expect that cost too. Overall not worth the cost. They wanted 6000 pesos. Drop the fee to half that and I’d return.
Great location along Litubu Bay.
At this time of year course is a bit dry, greens however were excellent. A great course to play.
Too expensive
I play this course a lot when we are down here for the winter. For some reason, the management decided that they could raise prices by 50% this year. Last year, I paid an average of $100/round - this year the rack rate is $285 and a 10-round package is $180/round. I really like the course although the greens are very slow which makes chipping and putting difficult. There is almost on one playing at these prices and I will only go back when I see a good Golf Now rate.
Snack shops
Great tacos and snacks at the 4th and 14 th
A great bonus while golfing
Great course!
Wonderful course. Very scenic and playable. Great staff and facilities. Highly recommend!
Average Mexico course
Small Pro Shop with very few items.
We were rushed to play before our tee time as 80 players were about to start
Caddy golfed several holes with us and His political views should have been left out of our conversations
Course rather dry, no rakes for bunkers and found myself in others footprints
Taco stands were nice and staff fairly friendly
Love this course!
A must play if your in the area.
Will not cost u a leg n arm to play.
