About

Holes 18
Type Public/Municipal
Par 70
Length 6329 yards
Slope 120
Rating 70.1

Meadowbrook Golf Course, whose original 18 holes dates back to circa 1930, offers 36 holes of golf with its Canyon and Creek Courses. Ralph Plummer laid these out back in the 1940s, Warren Cantrell put his signature here in 1955, then Bob Lohmann came along for another renovation in 1988. The more challenging Creek Course at Meadowbrook has narrow fairways and requires a shot-maker's touch. The Creek's sixth hole is the toughest: a par 3 playing 230 yards from the tips.

Good Value

This was my first time on this course and I was happy with my round. The staff is very friendly and the course conditions are nothing to complain about. I played as a single and went off at 2:00 and did not reach another group until #13, so you could say the pace of play was exceptional. This is not a country club caliber course, but a great public course if you're looking to get in a quick round in Lubbock.

Great layout and best bang for your buck in Lubbock

I use to run this golf course so I know the challenges they face with the little money they get. Nice elevation changes mixture of short and long holes. Overall this is my favorite public course in lubbock for my money besides the Rawls course. Price is fair and you get 2 courses to choose from. Canyon side offers more free lines fairways where as Creek course offers more water hazards and makes you think your way around the course. Driver is not always necessary on all the holes. Creek is my favorite of the 2 courses

Pace of play

I think when golfers check in staff should emphasize the importance of pace of play. Our group finds way to many instances of slow play. If faster players catch up to slower players be it novice or just jacking around marshal should intervene proactively.

Horrible Course Management

Overbooked. Waited 30 minutes behind 4 groups once at scheduled tee time. Complained 3 times about slow play by group in front of us, who let group in front of them get 2 holes ahead, before management did anything about it.

Good layout - poor conditions - pace of play not good

Meadowbrook could be the best course in the area - if there was some money spent on maintaining it. Elevated shots, challenging design, well placed trees. It's just not cared about - so the fairways are in bad shape - tee boxes are in terrible shape. Cannot figure out why they constantly insert one or two single golfers between groups of four. We feel bad for them & let them through, but when there's multiple singles to let through it throws everything off. Match them up! If someone would invest money & care into the course they could charge more & golfers would have a better overall experience.

Cool layout, good course

I've played both the canyon and the creek course at meadowbrook. I enjoy the option of having 2 different 18 hole courses to choose from, giving golfers ample choices. A few holes were riddled with prairie dog burrows, making them difficult to find and or play your ball after the first shot. However, those holes are an extreme minimum. The greens aren't too fast, but still manage to be challenging. Overall, very happy with the value to play meadowbrook and will return next trip to Lubbock.

Course review

Course was in very very dry condition. I know its early spring and no rain, but the grass was so dry that my golf bag was covered in dust after driving across one fairway. Really need a marshal on duty to help pace. One group holding up 4 groups is frustrating.

Horrible course

One of the worst courses I've ever played, don't even consider it grass, it's hitting off hard dirt. Not worth the money, I can play a better course in Scottsdale with green grass for less.

Super fast pace of play

Loved this course. Super fast pace of play, especially since they let me play as a single. The greens were in pristine shape, well cut and ball rolled nicely. Being called the Creek course, there were some water hazards that ate my balls. There were a couple of things that bothered me about the course such as the fairways being in really poor shape, and no distance markers at the tees. However, given that this is a muni and the super cheap prices, the negatives are no big deal. I'll definitely want to return and try the Canyons, the other course.
