Spring Valley Golf Course
About
Spring Valley Golf Course is a public, 18-hole course that features a rolling, hilly terrain with stately Cottonwood trees that are over 75 years old sprinkled throughout. Designed by Ross Graves, the golf course took over three years to construct, which is understandable considering its elevation of 6400 feet and its hilly terrain. The course is 7,180 yards from its championship tees with a par of 72. Golfers will have to employ their short game for this course. Spring Valley Golf Course's signature hole is the 17th, which is a par-3 that requires a tee shot not only through trees but also over a creek that winds through the course. There is also plenty of wildlife, including rabbits, deer, and antelope, for those who enjoy animals.

When will it rain?
Dry and a little windy but always fun to play. There are some great key shots you have to pull off if you want to play well at Spring Valley. The course record is (67) and in these conditions today, I got close to it with my (68)!
Good layout
Course was good and staff friendly. Wind on this day was a bit harsh.
Windy day
I got a lost minute tee time, probably because the weather predicted strong winds. The course was great, cart path only, but I had a great day. It was wide open, I think I only saw a few other people playing. So I can’t comment on pace of play. Tough greens, some fairways are long but it adds to the fun for me. Definitely looking forward to booking again on day that is not windy.
Wait at least a month
Don’t golf here for at least a month! The fareway are burned out from lack of water, the greens are only slightly better but covered with holes and sand from aeration, and they are 100% cart path only for the foreseeable future. This place is in bad shape!
On the positive side, their breakfast burritos are second to none!
Great Staff
Excellent teamwork, and leadership. Very good bar and restaurant. Nice Course.
Course fun, Cart path police needs anger management class.
Always enjoy the course, unfortunately the cart path police guy was in a bad mood. My cart had two wheels off the path and cart path police started to actually yell at us. Needs to learn some people skills and get to an anger management class. This guy definitely going to ruin many golfers rounds in the future.
Slow play
I know there was a frost delay on this day- but the delays & waiting @ every tee box - forced me to take a rain check for the back nine - 2:40 min round & there wasn’t a thing we could about it! I know our town is growing but this isn’t a course in town!!!
Such a pleasant surprise!
Prior to a week ago, I first played this course about 12 years ago (and was not impressed the first go around) but, wow, how things have changed! New management, and this course was awesome. I loved the design and was so impressed with the course condition: well-manicured soft greens and fairways that were in great shape. Bought a breakfast burrito from the restaurant. Food was great; staff was great. And the course is an overall great value. Definitely worth the drive from Denver!
Beautiful course!
The course is in amazing shape. Once the native grass they planted comes in, it will be even better. The only downside that takes some adjustment is that the greens are lightning fast.
Spring Valley... all season long!
First time playing here this season and what a great surprise!
Greens are fast and fun to putt on. Sneaky fast areas that run away, some false fronts, well-placed bunkers off the tees, various little ponds come into play on a couple holes and did I mention the fast greens? Hole#15 = Bunker of Sin! AVOID that one!
I've seen deer twice now in two rounds. Today, two walked right across the front of the teeing ground on Hole#10!
My go-to golf course next season!
Where is the Marshall?
Everything was great until we hit hole #7. We had three groups on the hole. I called the clubhouse. I was told they would "send someone out:. Never saw a marshall and the slow play continued until #18.
Another Southeastern CO Plains Gem...
After travelling to the CO Springs area, the past few years to play, I found the perfect compromise golf course... Elizabeth's Spring Valley Golf Course!
A great deal but be aware... signage finding this course on the Country Roads is NOT easy. I missed the tiny little sign twice and ended up driving around in circles, almost missing my first tee time. Luckily, the road crew working on the corner of CR174 helped me out.
Course-wise: my first round proved awesome. Course was in great late summer condition, lush green fairways, well-kept natural grasslands and valleys. I didn't hit into any sand bunkers so I can't speak to those, thankfully. The valley offers some great views and some challenging tee shots. Not too long but there are a handful of holes that can play long. This course definitely needs some better yardage markers that's for sure. No 150yd stakes anywhere. Just 150 and 100 fairway markers and I didn't see any sprinkler head yardage markers at all so yardage calcs were challenging. I don't use a yardage range finder, so I was off a club on several shots but not a problem otherwise. For a first time played, birdied both Par3's on the back; almost aced Hole#17! Greens were in very good shape, sneaky fast... busy course I'm sure but I wish more players would fix their ball marks. I spent time doing that on almost every green. Overall, a great deal and worth the drive finding this course. I'll get in a few more rounds here this season and look forward to a full set of rounds here next season! Cheers!
Great Course & Views
The course was such a treat to play—beautiful views and even wild turkeys along the way! It’s in great shape, the pace of play was just right, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly. The back 9 brought more of a challenge, with tall trees and an incredible sunset to finish it off. We’ll definitely be back again soon. Thank you!
