Spring Valley Golf Course

About
Spring Valley Golf Course is a public, 18-hole course that features a rolling, hilly terrain with stately Cottonwood trees that are over 75 years old sprinkled throughout. Designed by Ross Graves, the golf course took over three years to construct, which is understandable considering its elevation of 6400 feet and its hilly terrain. The course is 7,180 yards from its championship tees with a par of 72. Golfers will have to employ their short game for this course. Spring Valley Golf Course's signature hole is the 17th, which is a par-3 that requires a tee shot not only through trees but also over a creek that winds through the course. There is also plenty of wildlife, including rabbits, deer, and antelope, for those who enjoy animals.

Surprising Golf Course in Elizabeth.
Second time I played Spring Valley golf course and I remembered a better course. Played in early June and the course, especially the fairways, were in great condition. Now, a month later, the fairways are drying out and the whole course just seemed tired, nothing exciting or memorable. It’s still a basic place to play - and the greens are fair - but it won’t be my first or second choice!
The course layout is reasonable.
Some parts of the fairway are dirt land and lack of watering.
Great fun course but little over priced
Loved the course and the layout. The only thing I will complain about is the pace of play. I’m a huge fan of keeping rounds around 4 hours but when it starts to hit 4.5 5 hours I get annoyed. This definitely was because of the people playing in front of us and the Marshals didn’t do much about it. The conditions weren’t amazing but were par with classic muni conditions. I would say that it was a tad over priced for the conditions, by like 20 bucks but compared to other places I payed 80 dollars for this one was better.
Well maintained conditions
Fairways, greens and the rough were all in great condition despite the recent rainstorms. Puddles and wet areas were confined to the cart paths.
Beautiful Course
Spring Valley Ranch Golf Course – Honest Review
Spring Valley Ranch is hands-down one of the most scenic and well-kept golf courses in Colorado. The fairways are lush, the greens roll true, and the layout gives just enough challenge to keep you humble without making you want to throw your clubs in the pond. The course feels remote in the best way possible—peaceful, relaxing, and surrounded by beautiful natural views.
Now, let’s talk real talk.
The biggest drawback? Cart girls are like unicorns—magical, but you probably won’t see one. So unless you plan on surviving 18 holes dehydrated and hangry, stock up early. Water, drinks, snacks, the whole deal. Once you tee off, don’t count on the beverage cart saving you.
As for housing danger zones: you’ve only really got to worry about homes on holes 9, 10, and 16—and even then, only if your swing goes sideways. If you can keep it mostly straight, you’ll enjoy a clean, open course with plenty of breathing room.
All in all, Spring Valley Ranch delivers a top-tier golf experience… just BYOB (bring your own beverages…. Just kidding that’s not allowed!)
Great value
Enjoyed the course. Creative layout with tricky but fun greens. Would play again for sure.
Great hidden gem.
Spring Valley has a nice blend of challenges and fair holes. It is a well-laid out course that is hidden in the rolling hills of Elizabeth, Colorado. Its value for the money, and the ease of getting a tee time, make Spring Valley a perfect golf round! I’ll be back soon.
Lovely Colorado Course
The tee boxes, greens, and fairways were very well maintained. The rough was cut down to not be too tough to get out of however, the real gem of course management was the bunkers. Most guys don't talk about the bunkers on a course. But SVGC has some of the finest bunkers I have seen in Colorado. Bunker play is a big part of the game of golf. SVGC has fine fairway bunkers that are well maintained. But the greenside bunkers are sod layered, think of Scottish bunkers. This course is also well irrigated, well drained, and has several water features that make several holes challenging. Honestly, this is on the better irrigated and managed courses I have yet to play in Colorado. The facilities were clean, well maintained, and the restaurant served good food. For the price, this course is well worth a visit.
No complaints
Nice wide open course on the front 9, a bit tighter on the back 9. A nice variety of holes, some tricky greens/pin placements and thick rough made what seems like a low-hazard course play tougher. Overall, a beautifully maintained course. Pace of play was a bit slow, finished 20 minutes over due to a group ahead.
