Spring Valley Golf Course
About
Spring Valley Golf Course is a public, 18-hole course that features a rolling, hilly terrain with stately Cottonwood trees that are over 75 years old sprinkled throughout. Designed by Ross Graves, the golf course took over three years to construct, which is understandable considering its elevation of 6400 feet and its hilly terrain. The course is 7,180 yards from its championship tees with a par of 72. Golfers will have to employ their short game for this course. Spring Valley Golf Course's signature hole is the 17th, which is a par-3 that requires a tee shot not only through trees but also over a creek that winds through the course. There is also plenty of wildlife, including rabbits, deer, and antelope, for those who enjoy animals.

Victim of the dry spring
Have played this course through several decades and owners and have really appreciated how it has matured. It appears that the April-May drought has taken its toll though as I have never seen it so dry here. We were told there were problem with the irrigation pumps which would compound the drought impact.
Despite that, the greens were generally in shape except their being.bumpy and long.
New ownership for 2022 perhaps?
We will be back in a few weeks.
Very rough
Clearly no irrigation on. Dry cracked greens covered in debris. Was vey disappointed. Brought in a friend from out of town. Would not play here again, at least not this early in the season. Fairways half dead. Hard pan everywhere. 2nd green just closed with a flag in the unputtable fairway instead. Expected very little and they delivered. Too bad.
Save your money
Not very well kept. Grass was very…. Well I guess I should t say grass as it was mostly dirt and gravel. Course regulator was very annoying thinking we were not keeping pace as we would be parked with the party ahead of us at the tee which means we have to wait for them to tee off and then go and hit a couple times before we could tee off. Definitely not worth what they are charging. If this place is open within the next 3-5 years I might try it again between that timeframe but not again this season or next.
A little to far to drive from my home.
Fairways not good. Have played other courses early spring with descent fairways already. Worst greens I have played since moving to Colorado from Missouri. 1 temporary green , should let golfers know. Needs some improvement.
Construction
2nd hole is a mess. Not even a real green. Otherwise, good value course.
For winter conditions, course is holding up good
This course is very exposed to the elements so based on that it's holding up good. There is a temp green on #2 playing 100 yds so kind of a throw away hole. Other than that, it's a great value for the layout and conditions for early winter.
