Spring Valley Golf Course

About
Spring Valley Golf Course is a public, 18-hole course that features a rolling, hilly terrain with stately Cottonwood trees that are over 75 years old sprinkled throughout. Designed by Ross Graves, the golf course took over three years to construct, which is understandable considering its elevation of 6400 feet and its hilly terrain. The course is 7,180 yards from its championship tees with a par of 72. Golfers will have to employ their short game for this course. Spring Valley Golf Course's signature hole is the 17th, which is a par-3 that requires a tee shot not only through trees but also over a creek that winds through the course. There is also plenty of wildlife, including rabbits, deer, and antelope, for those who enjoy animals.

Not in shape
Fairways were yellow and patchy. Greens looked good but speed was slow. Like putting on a bowl of oatmeal
Golf Course
Course condition was terrible. Greens and fairway were in tribble shape, not worth the money. Won’t return to play this golf course again.
Great Staff at Spring Valley
The staff is outstanding. From the restaurant to the clubhouse, to the Marshall, and the cart person, all were excellent and had great attitudes! There was a foursome that held up the eight groups behind them and that foursome had a gap of three holes to the next foursome ahead of them. They should have been held accountable. It has been hot and dry and some of the fairways really needed water as they were drying out. Overall the course is good, and the staff makes the visit very enjoyable.
Conditions
I really like golfig here and I am glad they reopened. Sun/heat damage has become an issue on the fairways. For a Thursday the pace of place was terrible. 5-10 minute wait on the tee boxes each hole. Distance checking is not what it used to be. Put a 150yd marker on each hole. Sprinkler head yardage guides seam to be missing. Not everyone plays with a range finder or GPS. Speaking of GPS, add it to the carts!
Needs rain/water
Fairways and greens are in great shape, the tee boxes are pretty stiff and hard but not a major issue. The course wanting a 90° rule for driving a cart in the rough while wanting $65 for green fees and another $20 for a cart is laughable in July. The newer bridges are nice but this course needs water or rain to justify these rates for me.
Water helps all
Fairways and greens in great shape. Some tee boxes are pretty hard, but the new bridges and cart paths are great. This course just needs some rain.
Great People Good track
Everyone was really nice as opposed to the tools you run into Colorado national and Racoon creek. Track is not bad.. interesting yet challenging… still doing work on it but playable
Fun course
Great course, my only warning is, if you are a single with a cart they will put another single with you. If sharing a cart with a stranger isn’t your cup of tea (it is not mine) beware they do this. I won’t be playing as a single there again.
Nice course!
Very nice course, a little challenging in spots but fun. Staff was great too. Peace of play was slow but I think it was the groups in front of us that really slowed us down. Over all we only ran 20 minutes behind on 18 so I have witnessed worse. Will be back.
