The Golf Club at Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe

The course was in great shape. Greens were quick. Fairways were fantastic and the bunkers were playable. The course has a lot of dog legs and you have to hit fairways. If you miss a fairway, you are going to have a ton of tree trouble.

I was a long drive but worth it. Course was in great shape for the fall. Excellent layout with tight fairways , trees, traps and water. Greens were also in excellent shape. Food choice and service was fine but could be expanded to fit expectations with course

The course has several interestingly laid out holes. It has lots of trees and is tight but not brutal. I look forward to playing it again.

Great course for the value. Numerous challenging holes requiring accurate approach shots.. Large Greens somewhat slow.

I find the course plays a bit longer than the card says. Would like it better if there were a set of tees at about 6000 yrds. Bunkers and greens in great shape.

This course is consistently among the best conditioned course in greater Houston area. The fairways are fairly plush, sand traps are full & the greens are always in stellar shape. They are fast as well as very difficult to read. I've read on here that

the course is too difficult for its locale. I will make the scenic drive down FM 149 to this course in a heartbeat. A talented clubhouse as well.

The course is tight and sometimes too severely in my opinion. Number 9 hole has a chute with a fairway that is only 25 yards wide but then trees overhang the fairway reducing the slot to about 12 yards. If I was playing in the PGA maybe but for weekend golfers this was ridiculous!! I told staff at the turn and they said they already trimmed twice which tells me the greens keepers would rather be proud of the course than having average people play it. I queried my group and they all feel that if u are going to drive over an hour it should be a fun track and they would rather play a track that average golfers can play and have fun!! Course is in great condition just too severe for weekend duffers!!

Course was in great shape. Very fun course with lots of different challenges. Would recommend.

Great course. Will Def be back

This was an exceedingly great value. The course is very nice, extremely well-maintained. It was a little hot, but bearable. They will loan you coolers when you buy drinks there, and that helps a great deal. Even the food was reasonably priced. Pace of play was great, and we took the back way Pace of play was great, and we took the back way to The course, so even though it's just a little bit further than some of you might consider, the drive was very nice.

Booked a GolfNow Hot Deal, so hard to go wrong. Course was not crowded, so we played at a very good pace. Only one green seemed to have some problem spots, but the pin placement avoided the bad area. Sand was in good shape, fairways were nice. Cart service a little pricier than others, but came by frequently. Would definitely play this course again if in the area.

I've played here many times and always enjoy it. With a little more TLC this may someday be a destination course again.

Course overall in great shape probably due in part to the mass amounts of rain that's deluged us in last couple of months. I will recommend that they do some tree trimming however. Certainly will be strokin' more rounds out there!

with the terrible weather we have been having we were dying to play. We got in two rounds over memorial day weekend and another on the 5th. This course has excellent drainage, we were hit with torrential rain sunday a couple inches in like 20 minutes, it ran right off the fairway, down the drains, and in about 20 minutes was playing well. service has always been good. staff friendly. We were very glad to be playing memorial day as well while some friends were flooded in.

Course is well kept. Very green fairways. The rough is a little unkept, but that is fine since I shouldn't be in the rough anyways.

The fairways are narrow for most of the holes.

The course was in great shape after the recent rains, and had just been cut. A few of the greens were a bit thin, but otherwise well maintained. The layout is challenging, narrow tree-lined fairways with ample water hazards to navigate. A good test, at a good value. I wonder how it will fair in the heat of summer, and its a bit out of the way - far west end of Lake Conroe.

We booked a round for 2 through Golf Now, hadn't played the course since it was called Del Lago but remember it being a nice course. We got there just before tee time and were told that the front 9 was closed because of an auto show on the grounds but we could play the back nine twice if we wanted to. It kind of shocked me because I didn't see any information about that when I booked the round and we drove from Houston to play. The other thing I didn't understand was the cart path only rule, the course was super dry and not that nice to where cart path only rules should apply. If I would have known either of those issues we would have played somewhere else. Overall, the course was a really good design in a nice area. The condition of the course was decent, the fairways were good but had crabgrass growing in a lot of places which made the cart path rule strange. The greens were in good shape but really slow. There was not many people playing (I am assuming because of the auto show) so the pace of play was great. Overall, it was a pleasant experience but a little confusing. I would recommend the course again but would hope that better communication is given next time these conditions apply.
