Reviews
Worth a road trip, if they work on the greens
This is an excellent course, nice mixture of wide open fairways and some tight, short holes with good topography and interesting, sloped and mounded greens and green complexes. The fairways were in great shape, the tee boxes were good, my only problem was the greens. They have really good potential, interesting shapes and sizes and slopes, but...they're almost neglected. I understand winter weeds (poa annua) are going to invade, but I think it means you keep the greens cut short and consistently to provide a more even surface. The greens could also use punching, sanding and rolling and love and care. Will check back later.
Great Course
Great course. Enjoyable, friendly and helpful staff. Can't wait to play again.
Max Golf Course
Great course. Love the staff and especially love playing there. Not to mention the food is great. You won't break the bank while you are there too. Everything is reasonably priced.
Great condition
This course was in great condition, especially for January. The greens are in great shape and I can see them being extremely tough and true come middle of the season. Staff was extremely kind and helpful!
Nice course
The course was in overall good shape. Nice peaceful setting on the river. The greens need some work. They were better last time I played here in the summer. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely play here again next time I'm in town.
Great course
The course is well worth the drive. Greens in great shape. Condition of fairways was excellent.
Really nice Munie Trac
Really nice golf course. Greens were a little slow but not bad. Cost for Twilight round was $31 (for 18). Seems a bit high to me......but I would definitely play here again!
Great for all golfers
The Max is a refreshing retreat from the the long, wide and straight fairways that seem to be so popular with newer courses. Rather, the Max presents a combination of lateral hazards and/or thick native areas that require the golfer to keep the ball on a narrower fairway and strategically work around doglegs and fairway bunkers. The greens are always in good shape, and the driving range and practice greens are also nice.
Great course for any player
The course has very well maintained fairways and greens, and is a refreshing retreat from the long and straight hole layout that seems to be so popular for newer courses. Instead, the Max presents a combination of lateral hazards and/or thick native areas that require the golfer to hit narrower fairways and strategically work around doglegs and fairway bunkers. The greens are always in great shape, and the course is very scenic. The driving range and practice greens are nice as well.
