About

Located just north of Laredo, the Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course overlooks the Rio Grande River. Golfers can enjoy stunning views throughout the course but especially on the four holes that play directly on the waterfront. The par-72 layout sprawls across 270 acres of rugged south Texas landscape. The terrain is covered with 100-year-old mesquite trees and two vast arroyos, which were incorporated into the layout. There are also a variety of elevation changes across the landscape that can be challenging but the design manages to seamlessly blend dramatic features and playability. Crafted by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the golf course appeals to a range of skill levels from novices to frequent golfers. Risk-reward opportunities can be found throughout Mandel, giving both short and long hitters a variety of ways to play each hole.

A gem in South Texas

The course is absolutely perfect! Onder a 105 degree heat it was a bit tough! Greens were not that fast but honest…tee boxes, fairways were perfect! No brown spot anywhere… for $45 dollars? Wow you can also replay for Free

I was disappointed that the back 9 was closed and still got charged for 18 holes and not offered a voucher to do the front 9 at a later date
