Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club
About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

DO NOT PAY $80 FOR THIS DOG TRACK
The fact that this joke of a course was $77 for 18 holes is beyond me. The only thing they have going for them are decent paced greens. There is football field sized dirt patches on almost every fairway. This is supposed to be prime golf conditions, but this place is horrendous. Never in a million years would I have paid almost $80 if I knew it would be such an absolute dog track. Never coming back, and that’s for sure. Highly DONT recommend this course!
Great North Dallas Course
The staff is a wonderful asset always willing to assist and make your experience very positive.
At the Pro Shop, restaurants, practice areas there is always a helpful staff member ready to assist.
Do not play here!!!
Greens are in very poor shape. I played this course many many times 10-15 years ago. Today it is very bad! Pay the extra and play elsewhere!!!
Decent Course
Some fun holes, layout was enjoyable. Decent shape for this early spring season. Rainy day so it may have played a little rougher conditions than normal. Overall good though. Thanks
Bad shape
The overall course is in need of major repair. Bare spots everywhere. I might need to to a doctor to fix my back because riding in a cart was so rough. The greens were in good to great shape.
Great Course…but needs a Marshall!
One of my favorites to play - but definitely needs a Marshall! The course was held up by (1) Foursome that (4) groups behind them backed up.
Other than that greens were in great shape.
Great venue in needs more Greens upkeep
This course is always a good option in the area. However, the greens in 4 holes need attention. Texas extreme weather can severely impact the greens and that seems to be the case in some of the holes.
Overall, Ridgeview is a good option for a fun round of golf in north Texas.
