About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Over priced
Poor course conditions.
Greens have dirt and sand patches throughout. Fairways were the same. Range balls all over. Would expect a 30 dollar price tag for the course in its current state.

Greens and tees were in good condition. Fairways needed water. Staff was friendly and helpful. Practice putting green was close to the greens. The holes were challenging and interesting. I would play this course again.

Good Greens
Recent rain helped greens - fairways and rough conditions have terrain problems ruts washed out .

Not worth 55 dollars
Course is in manageable conditions. If it’s off the fairway it’s hard dirt. Greens are full and slow. Fairways are acceptable as well as tee boxes. The Carts are old gas beaters. I don’t know if I have driven slower carts in my life. No GPS. I’d pay 35 for the round. Not 55. Many other municipal courses in the area that exceed this for the same price. Won’t be back.

Poor shape
This course is an embarrassment. I just moved near the course and I'm embarrassed to tell anyone I live near this course. It's in horrible shape and looks like its been neglected for years. I wouldn't play the course again if it was free. With as many course there are in the DFW, this course should be shut down.

People cutting in from other areas of the course. Caused big backups.

Diamond in the rough
Great course for your money. A fun one for sure. No marshals to be found so had to self manage pace of play. Skipped a hole to get passed a very slow group. Still had a great time. Greens and fairways in pretty good condition still in October.

Improving but a ways to go!
I have played her for years and had been disappointed in the conditions the last couple years. This is the best it has been in a long time. Greens are improving. Bunkers are decent. Fairways and rough still need a lot of attention. No drinking water on course is unexplainable! Keep the improvements coming and get some water out there!

Slow play behind senior league
Unfortunately, pace of play was ridiculously slow due to seniors in front of us.

Ridgeview
Great layout, but there is a lack of grass on some of the fairways and there were bare spots on one green.

Great Value
First time playing this course. Had seen a couple of reviews within the last week complaining about the condition of the fairways. I found the fairways to be in excellent condition. I normally play winter rules - but there was no need to on these fairways. Great lies in all the fairways. Greens were outstanding and held approach shots well (even on shots with my 3 and 4 hybrids - a couple of times stopped within a foot of the divot mark) My only complaint is that the greens were in such great shape that I could not blame them for my missed putts - could only blame myself.

First time visit
Excellent course and staff were great. Only disappointed in the lack of breakfast / food service for such a nice facility. Also, should have some warning signs on holes that are blind
to opposite tee. Specifically hole #9, but I can’t think of the others.
