About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Great morning of golf
Surprised in the middle of summer the course looks as good as it does. The first few greens had some issues but overall not bad. Tee boxes needed more water, they were so compressed we could barely get a tee in the ground! Good course for your average golfer.
The carts here suck though! Small and gas powered. Took the first one back to the clubhouse because it almost didn’t make it up the small hill to the first tee box!

I hope the next owners know how to maintain a golf course. CBIGG obviously is only in the golf business to squeeze the very last cent of profits from their golf courses.

Gorgeous after the rain
After the storm passed, my son and I were paired up. I love this course for the rolling hills and length of course. Par 3's are gorgeous. Anytime on a course with loved ones is greatness. Overall, quite the enjoyable time. Mud is never fun but course itself held up well.

No drinking water
We were a foursome, start time 11:30, today, July 5th.
Temp at start 100 degrees.
We all teed off played the fist four holes and begun to look for some cool drinking water, none could be found, none was set out on the course.
After nine holes I went in to complain to the resident Pro. He said that it was company policy to not provide public drinking water, I told him that the Covid policies have expired.
We found no drinking water, no ball washers, there were plenty of trash cans available. The course had tree limbs down from a storm of two months ago. It appeared to us that course maitainance has been severely put on the back burner.
We suggest you find a different course to play, one that cares about we Texas golfers..

Greens are coming back!
If you have played this before, you know they had challenges with Poana but the staff have done a great job of getting the greens in pretty goof shape. Some bare spots in the fairway that they should rope off as they water but can't complain too much . Dallis grass shoots up this year but what are you going to do? Staff is always nice and courteous.

Water Please!
A Texas golf course that has no water on the course! Ridiculous.
Overall Course needs work. Used to be well maintained and one of the better courses in the area.

Greens need a LOT of work
Course in OK shape generally but the greens were rough. Close to the pin, not too bad but around the edges and in other areas they were really bad often with no grass at all.

Worse $72 spent on Golf
Greens were shot. Fairways hard pan.
No marshal pace was horrible at the turn we arrived to see a group teeing off next group waiting and we just arrived. From that point on it was ten to 15 minutes between shots.
Temp was close 100 no water any where on the course.
The staff inside was pleasant and friendly but that was the only positive about this course.

Back 9 had 4 separate groups on each hole. We waited on every shot and on tee box as much as ten minutes

Don’t bother
Tee boxes sans fairways are in great shape. The greens are not. They are in terrible shape very little actual grass. Really sad to see this course going down

Poor course conditions
Several greens need to be fixed and/or replaced completely. Not one single water cooler on the course.
