About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Fun course
I love it here but greens need work and bunkers need more sand but staff is always excellent and I will always come back.
Greens are horrible
Not sure if this place has got new management or what. Those weed patched greens are some of the worst greens I have seen. Played this course several time prior to this, love the layout, however I won’t be back.

Horrible condition
They’ve really let this course go. Greens are horrible condition. Bumpy and marked up from lack of care. Bunkers have been in need of repair for about 2-3 years now. I used to play this course all the time but until they fix it, I won’t be spending anymore money here.
Ever since a new manager took control of the facility it has declined precipitously. No grass on the driving range and the practice areas as a whole are a joke. The course is in terrible condition and considering all these problematic areas you would think the staff would be friendly to counter the problems. That's not the case as they are mostly rude and reflective of their non existent/rude manager. I recommend Twin Creeks in the same area with a much friendlier staff and better conditions. It's a shame because ridgeview was a once solid golf course that's been run into the ground.
This golf course is pathetic!!! It is extremely worse that ALL of the municipal courses. AND, they want to charge you an arm and a leg to play it!
I want my money back soooo badly!
Crab grass and aeration all over the greens. They clearly need new course management.
Worst greens I’ve played in a long time.
Putting on the greens at Ridgeview Ranch was absolutely ridiculous. Patchy weeds or maybe grass was all over every green and caused every putt to go off line. And to pay full price for that experience was a joke.
Great challenge!
Great public course, semi links style. Some open drives, some thread the needle. Nice mix of score level and challenging holes!

Slow
I usually enjoy playing here, about once a month. Play was backed up from the start. Five minute wait on each shot. The greens were in poor shape. The fairways were soggy and bunkers unusable. I gave up after nine. But I usually love playing here and will try again in April.

Decent conditions considering grass was dormant. Decent layout. Would play again.
