Arrowhead Golf Club

About
The golf course at the Arrowhead Golf Club has been declared the top public course in Denver in the past by Golf Digest, as well as one of the top 75 public courses in the nation. The towering red sandstone rock formations are a trademark of the course, providing a unique and beautiful atmosphere, which is further enhanced by the abundant wildlife that have made the course their home. The rolling terrain provides elevation changes and undulation to the greens. Water hazards and bunkers also come into play on the course. Arrowhead Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole. It is a steep, downhill hole with scenic views.

The setting and views are fantastic
Arrowhead is a great course to play if you have the time. The setting back in amidst the rock outcroppings is fantastic and there are amazing views from some of the tee boxes.
Unique
There are not many courses where the driving range offers incredible views. Arrowhead is one of them. This is the type of place where people would come to gawk at the scenery if there was never a golf course built here. We are lucky to be able to play our sport in such magnificent surroundings.
When playing Arrowhead, try not to get too caught up in the views. There are plenty of good golf holes that are sure to challenge any golf enthusiast. You will need to be in good spots off the tee to score well, and the greens can be quite tricky.
Don' expect a a quick round out here. They do try to keep the pace moving, but understandably things can get a little slow as most players are enjoying the views just as much as the golf. This is more like a destination course than most in the area.
Arrowhead is a must see for anyone coming from out of town. There is really nothing quite like it anywhere else.

Thanks for the kind words about the club. Hope you'll be able to come back soon.
Views were unreal, course in good shape
First time playing here and was taken back by the views during the whole round as I had my camera out alot. The layout is tight but expected with the lay of the land. Course was in real good shape with no visible wet spots from all the rain. Greens were running quick and with all the undulations, putts can run by real easily. Overall, I come back again maybe a little dried out to see how it plays then.

Hi jsantos01111976, that’s wonderful to hear. Glad to read you thought the course was in good shape even with all the rain we've had. Thanks so much for leaving us a review. Hope to see you again soon!
Over priced
Very overpriced and the pace of play was a disaster

We appreciate your feedback and will continue to try to improve the guest experience. Thanks for playing last month.
Terrible course
After all the hype about this course online and everything it's not what they say at all. The greens were extremely slow they probably hadn't been mowed in at least 2 days the T boxes were beat up and had no grass growing on them in some spots the bunkers were rock and just dirt. A couple holes had 3 groups on them one on the green one waiting in the fairway and one waiting on the T box. The views were the only thing that was good about the course. Save your money don't play this course it's not worth 129$ at 3 o'clock and definitely not worth 179$ in the morning time. Go play Fossil Trace in Golden Colorado. It's stunning spectacular and pure. Arrowhead is a waist

Wiatt sorry to read you were disappointed with the course. We understand everyone has differing opinions on the conditions, so we'll work harder to better ourselves. Thanks for playing yesterday.
Beautiful views and in great shape
They have the very best burger I’ve had in my life!

Thanks for the review! Glad you thought the course was in great shape. We'll pass along your comment to the kitchen staff on the burger.

Thanks for the stars! We try to provide our customers with the best service and experience, and we hope you’ll visit us again soon!

Thanks for the 5 stars!
Arrowheard - An Amzing CO Golf Course
Such an amazing place to play golf. The red rock structures are beautiful. The course is challenging and well-maintained. Simply a great place to play golf.
Excellent Conditions
I get out and play this course about once a year. The views never disappoint and the course has a lot of fun holes.
I love the par 3 3rd where they can actually set the pin in between the rock formation if they want. Players have a few opportunities to send a drive over the rock walls to cut the corner on 5, 12 and 15. The signature 13th is spectacular with a dramatic drop between 2 huge rock formations to the green below. There are so many fun holes on the course.
This year Arrrowhead has some of the best conditions I have seen. The fairways are in spectacular shape and the greens are very smooth. I always like playing here for the views, but the course is better this year. The only complaint is pace of play, but you can't expect a 4 hour round oat this type of course. Everyone is enjoying the scenery during the round.
If you get a chance to play it, especially with out of town golfers, go do it this summer!

A special treat
This course is fantastic! So many incredible views, challenging and relaxing. The staff was polite and encouraging. I can’t wait to play this course again.
Challenging course with great views
You play Arrowhead because the scenery is incredible. But it’s also a fun track that challenges you and gives you a bit of help in certain situations. Love this place.
Come for the Scenery
There is no doubt that Arrowhead offers the best golf course scenery in the state. The setting is spectacular, and everywhere you look there are towering red rocks lining the fairways of this fun golf course. If you are a little off your game then you might end up hitting a few of them with a wayward shot.
For folks from out of town, I would consider this course a must play. Sure you can go to Red Rocks park and see similar rock formations, but you can’t play 18 holes between them. Arrowhead does have premium pricing for tee times, they know how good the scenery is, and they get plenty of golfers who are willing to pay to enjoy the setting. Carts are included in the price which is a good thing since the course has many sharp elevation changes. The course does have a small practice green and a short driving range for warming up. (Irons Only)
The golf course itself is good. The par 70 layout offers 5 par 3s and 3 par 5s. There are lots of mature pine trees on Arrowhead, but I don’t think the course is too penal, there is a lot of room on the fairways. Conditions are very good with lush fairways and smooth greens that are not terribly fast.
The par 3 3rd hole offers the first amazing view looking east towards the city. A red rock formation surrounds the green and parts of the putting surface are built to conform to its contours. It’s a unique touch by the designer, if the pin is way back then you may get a pinball effect with your ball bouncing off of the giant sandstone. On hole 5 you need to keep your tee shot left or you will be blocked out by another mammoth stone that is just right of the fairway, good luck hitting your ball over the giant rock!
From the 10th tee, a spectacular downhill par 4, players see the long string of rocks that run through the back 9. This is the “I must take a picture” moment! The clubhouse and bar is right there too if you need refreshments. While hole 10 may have the best all around view of the red rock formations, I think most players will find the par 3 13th to be the most memorable hole on the course. This hole plays straight downhill between two gigantic red rocks, like playing in a canyon. It’s 177 yards, but it plays much shorter. Hole 15 offers players another great view of rock formations and a rare opportunity to hit a tee shot over the rocks! A well placed tee ball can cut the corner over the formation to the right and leave just a wedge into the hole.
If you are looking for a place to enjoy a round of golf then Arrowhead is a fun place to place. If you are looking for a memorable round with lots of opportunities to snap some great photos then Arrowhead is a must! No matter how well you play out here, you will be sure to enjoy the scenery!
Incredible layout and scenery; not so incredible conditioning
This is one of the most visually stunning courses in the country and a fabulous layout among the dramatic red rocks of the Front Range. (1) Unfortunately, ARCIs has assume ownership of the course and conditioning is marginal. Most notably, the sand bunkers have not been renewed for a long time...most have little sand and you'll play off of a rock hard surface. And ARCIS does not regularly condition or rake these thin bunkers. (2) Staff are marginally trained, and for a course of this incredible potential, and relatively high green fees, service is lacking. (3) The restaurant fare is inconsistent and wait staff always seem to be in a hurry.
Pace of play wasn't good, five hours twenty minutes. Some golfers were a bit "entitled" and impatient. Course conditions were somewhat overplayed. Tee time compaction might explain those "cons". The price paid doesn't match the expectation. The pluses were the spectacular vistas, and the friendly and accommodating staff, and the challenging mountain course.
Beautiful Course, Limited Amenities
The course is beautiful and there is wildlife on the course. Kind of a hard course for average or below players. On a hot day, there was no beverage cart or water on the course!
Hi BobbyDee19! Thank you for your positive feedback about our course and the spectacular views. We appreciate your input about the bunkers and will definitely take it into consideration for future improvements. We hope to see you back at Arrowhead soon!
