Falconhead Golf Club

We were in Austin for vacation and wanted to get a round in. Internet pics of this course looked great. Can’t say so much for the actual conditions. Rentals over priced and a mix s bag of models. Staff was nice in pro shop. Marshals and starters were idiots. Marshals finally come around on the 9th as we had experienced 10 min waits per hole. Not a $200 experience for sure.

I swear I’ve played every public course in town in the last 3 months and Falconheads greens are far and above the best. They could be a little softer, but otherwise flawless.

My son and I played this course based in part on the reviews here and elsewhere. What a disappointment. The course conditions were the worst we’ve played in a while at the price point ($75/round). Honestly, I would have been upset if we paid $50. Lots of mud where there should have been grass. Tee boxes were chewed up and some were off limits shortening some of the par 3’s to 110 yards or less. Some greens were sanded while others were not, so speeds were inconsistent.

To add insult to injury, the course was packed and they were allowing groups of five. They were probably members and we were told they played fast but of course they didn’t. We ended up skipping the last four holes and calling it a day.

I’d caution anyone to not play this course if you’re looking for an enjoyable round.

Two of my buddies had a legitimate excuse for not being able to make the round, but the guy in the proshop threw a fit about it and charged the card in full for their green fees through golf now for $225 and then tried to pair 2 with us after charging us for 4. Lol not a friendly a guy. Stuff happens, charging 2 extra green fees at $112.5 a pop was excessive. Overall it was a nice course.

I have played this course a few times, it's ok but overpriced. Tried to cancel the morning of 30 mph winds, they would not give a voucher and said I would be charged regardless. Rude, unappreciative of repeat clients, and overall a sucky ambiance, which I noticed prior to their egregious behavior the morning of my afternoon tee time (we had tornadoes moving through the area). It's a shame, I might have gone out a couple more times, but not after the treatment I received.

The fact that this course is $100 is a joke .

Course conditions are extremely poor .

Course maintenance obviously does not exist here and it’s clear they don’t care about the course. Seems there is no management team here.

Also no cart girl on a Sunday midmorning round . Again…. $100 round.

Avoid falconhead

This course was literally dead grass. Lost more balls because it was like landing every shot not on the green on concrete. Middle of the fairways and lost ball on multiple occasions as there is no grass to stop the ball from rolling off fairways through rough into canyons. Expected much more from this visit.

Course conditions rate this course as “a cow pasture”. Used to be better…tee boxes are chewed up, divots on greens, fairways have thin grass. Overall…way overpriced for what you get. I will never play there again!!!

There are a lot of bare spots on the fairways and greens need maintenance. Especially with the number of plays per day,they need to keep the course in better shape.

I had came across an employee stealing from the workplace among countless of other illegal activity . Come to find out this same employee has also been having sex at work. His accomplices Alex Hopper and Von Small who coaches children has said pedophilic things regarding the children in addition to smoking/snorting meth and smoking weed with Matthew Rodriguez on working hours, stealing from work such as range balls and lost and found items to include watches, rangefinders, clothes, money and such. When I confronted Matthew Rodriguez about his actions he became physically violent grabbing me, pushing me and threatening my life. They even be selling drugs at work. I would recommend you drug test these employees and the whole staff.

Of the 3 courses this company runs, this one is my favorite. Layout is fair, homes are set a little bit farther away, greens are in decent shape.

Wind is a huge factor on this course. Pace of play is decent, but can get slow when the wind blows. Greens were in good shape. Hopefully the fairways should start to get green with the impending spring. Overall, a decent round of golf.

This is a fun layout. Interesting holes. I liked it.

Course conditions acceptable for this time of year.

Time of year influenced my ratings. Dead grass fairways no fun. Would love to check it out when fairways are green. Priced high for conditions

The course was in decent shape for February- some bare spots off of the fairway, but that's to be expected. Tee boxes and bunkers were in great shape. Greens were in really good condition, but tough to figure out- they were super firm and fast on the front, but much slower on the back. The staff was awesome. The short game practice area was really nice, but the range was irons only and we were just hitting off of dirt- no grass.

Pace of play was an issue- it took us just over 5 hours to play 18. It was a really nice day though, and the course was packed, but I still wasn't expecting a 5 hour round on a Tuesday afternoon.

This was my first time playing this course, so I did some homework and looked at their website for a scorecard and yardages, which had 5 tee boxes listed. When we got there, there were yardages for all 5 on the hole markers at the start of each hole, but the Gold tee box that was listed was nowhere to be found. We played from blue, which seemed to play a little longer than the yardages that we were given on the scorecard and at the start of the hole. It was a little confusing.
