Starcke Park Golf Course
About
Situated on the north bank of the Guadalupe River, Starcke Park Golf Course (formerly known as Max Starcke Park Golf Course) stretches across a scenic landscape of century-old pecan trees. The golf course is easy to walk being of mostly flat terrain. Trees line the fairways, making accurate tee shots top priority in scoring well. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course and water hazards coming into play on a few holes for added challenge. Starcke Park Golf Course’s signature hole is the par-4 finishing hole, which requires a tee shot down a narrow fairway bordered by pecan trees on the right and a pond on the left. Considered one of the best municipal golf courses in Texas, Max Starcke Park G.C. also offers a practice and putting green and driving range.

Much better conditions than in the past
I was very impressed with the improvement to the course conditions. In the past I had written this course off because of how hard the fairways were and how rough of shape the greens were in. If you have not played starcke in the past few months then I highly recommend it! Especially for the price
Starke Park
Overall course is in good shape, fairways and greens need to be mowed. The day I played it was cart path only. Still wet from recent rains. Challenging course , old school with tree lined fairways . Like it
Good muni
I’m a big fan of mature Texas pecan trees
There are abundant and beautiful
Great gem
Fun course good conditions, fairway grass a little thick in some areas but overall for the price really good will be back
Good for the money
Good value. No waiting when we went on a clear blue sky Saturday.
Pros
-Grip and Rip because there is not many tee shots with trouble.
-A couple of the Par 4s were reachable from the Tee
Cons
-Greens were not green and inconsistent, I'm not mad about it, could be the season. They were rock hard and fast and nothing stayed in it no matter the spin.
-Hole variety is lacking, many of the holes are IDENTICAL to each other.
Overall it was still worth the money so I will play here again.
Enjoyable
Very nice course and it is well kept. Very affordable and a good course to play.
William Tomblin
Course was in great condition for this time of year - greens were challenging due to slopes and speed - I’ll definitely play this course again!
Nice
The course was in good condition and well kept. A few rough spots but overall a good course.
