About
Funeral home man and golf fan Bobby Owens led the development of Webb Hill CC in 1969, and the Leon Howard-designed 18-hole course has served Wolfe City ever since. This course is heavily wooded, with narrow, undulating fairways and a good combination of interesting tee shots. Howard’s design involves a few blind tee shots that play uphill, as well as a few from elevated tees that offer good views of the holes ahead. Water comes into play on half the holes, and the large greens are of medium speed.
No. 8 is the signature, playing 590 yards and requiring two tough shots down a swerving fairway lined by a lake. The approach is nasty because of the skinny green that is covered by trees.
Getting there : From I-30 east towards Greenville, take Hwy. 34 north to FM 2358. Turn left and the course is just down the road on the right side.

Now it’s a good course
Perfect greens, good fairways. Played this course a while back and didn’t think I would ever come back. I decided to got another chance and was I surprised. The only thing that could be improved are the bunkers and adding gps to carts. Had to drive ahead on some holes trying to figure out where to put ball. Bunkers had a little crust on them probably from not enough play I will be back.
Great Course, not Crowded
This course is an excellent condition considering we are going through a drought. Greens and Fairways were very nice. It was not crowded at all, and the staff was excellent!
Friendly, tough, I'll do it again!
To a person, everyone was friendly. Lets start with the lady that checked me in. She was very cordial. She explained the course to me, and even had a brief conversation with me after my round. On the course, I was a single and three different groups allowed me to play though. Everyone was incredibly nice. The course itself was very challenging and well kept. I look forward to playing it again.
Great Course
The greens have been redone this past summer and they are rolling true and looking great! The elevations and blind shots are a challenge but that’s what I really enjoy about playing Webb Hill. Our group had a great time and would most definitely recommend and play this course again!
Beautiful layout and extremely challenging
I never expected that this course would be so exceptional in every way being so far out in the country. Greens are new and incredibly well maintained. Was just visiting friends for the weekend and didn't expect much but I was stunned at how great this course is in every way.

Best I’ve seen there they got the greens in great shape course cut just right
Staff and course
Staff was great...friendly and considerate...the course played quickly, no waiting....in great shape and getting better!
Webb Hill is the solo golfers dream
I have played Webb hill over 20 times now, and can’t express how steadfast I am in this being the solo golfers dream. I have never been paired with a random, never had to wait more than 5 minutes on a tee box, and never had to worry about anything other than how my putting is doing while I am out there. 10/10!

Great Course
This course has an amazing layout, great features and I can’t wait to see what there new greens look like. This course is 100% a course I will be playing again!
Greens
I have played here before and have had a good to great experience before. I just didn’t realize that the green Ms got a fungus and they had to re-do the greens. We had to use a make-shift green, which was a hole cut in the ground in the fairway. Chipping and putting were almost impossible because of uneven grounds. I know this is a temporary issue and all should be ok in a few weeks, when they are able to open the greens. I just wished I had called before setting up the tee time and given Webb Hill some time to for the greens to come back. I can’t wait to see them come back in about 6 weeks!
Great Course, cool layout, unfortunately they are redoing the greens currently (probably about 10 weeks out from being good) they had temp greens mowed. They were pretty tough.
