Great course
It's in great shape right now and greens are running perfectly. If in area definitely need to play it.
Las Cruces golf
need to monitor/enforce pace of play, always fun to play RedHawk
Greens were excellent, rough was deep
Not much roll, as grass in the rough is deep, making 2nd shots difficult. No more cart delivery on arrival due to liability issues. Staff is very friendly.
Gem of Las Cruces
This is the course to play when working in the Las Cruces El Paso area. I find it challenging and requires thought to avoid the beach. The fairways are some of the best in the state. I find exceptional deals on Golf Now and have the course to myself during the week. Play Red Hawk before they finish the on course housing development as this will certainly change how the wind affects this course. Come to the desert!!!
Beautiful desert course
Great course! Nice fairways and greens. Fairly difficult, but all in all a great course
Great condition except for sand traps - they are in poor shape and don't need to be watered.
Rolling, Rolling, Rolling
This is a solid 4.5 course. Fantastic views, some nice challenges (lots of sand traps and water that comes into play on 4 or 5 holes), very well maintained tee boxes, fairways; and exceptionally pleasant staff. Lots and lots of rolling hills. If you can find a flat spot on the fairways or greens, let me know! The only negative is that some of the fairways were water-soaked and some of the sand traps had standing water. Highly recommended - particularly after playing a round at the less than stellar NMSU yesterday - if you find yourself in Las Cruces.
Best condition golf course
Only thing is the sand bunkers usually are little wetter than most places due to the watering of fairways and greens
Still the Best
I have a full review of Red Hawk planned with photos, maybe a video, but I just want to say that I gave a "3" for conditions because the conditions the previous two times I played were much better than this time around. The course was quite wet in a number of places and I'm not sure why. Irrigation issues perhaps? They did have a repair crew at the lake on the 1st tee and one of the workers said that there was an issue, but I really don't know. I should have asked. Anyway, generally, Red Hawk is the best golf course and overall golf facility I've been to in New Mexico. The closest to the country clubs I've gotten used to in FL. In all fairness, Sierra del Rio is a nice facility as well, but I've got to return to that course to do a proper comparison. Maybe that's the review I'll do: a comparison between Red Hawk and Sierra del Rio.
