The only course I have ever played that did not have water available for their players.
Very chinch’s! Common courtesy.
The course 👍 new carts 👍
Ed Oliver upgraded and course maintenances improvements
Looks like the ground crew is spending more time and money on keeping the course in better shape!
Course has gotten better
I haven’t played the Ed Oliver Golf course in over a year. The conditions there have improved greatly. They have cut out a lot of wast area which helps the playability of the course. Worth the money.
Challenging course narrow fairways and small greens. Good value for the money.
Ed Oliver’s
Have been going to the course for years and was greeted on Monday with a rude staff that stated our pace of play was slow (4 hour round with a 4some) and we were holding up the course, meanwhile the group behind us didn’t have to wait to take a single shot. I was incredibly disappointed with the rude staff from top to bottom and will be telling friends to avoid this course at all costs.
Nice course for the money!
Great deals can be had on GolfNow for Ed Oliver. Nice layout with all the amenities and fairly good condition with some bare spots on the fairways here and there. Holes are a bit short so well suited for beginners but still tricky enough for intermediates.
Dog track
An unorganized and dangerous course t boxes on top of each other sand traps have mud and stones some holes you are on a t box directly behind green very dangerous will not return
First round of the year
A too hot day in mid-April was not what I expected for my first round of the year. The course was in pretty good shape, although I was a bit disappointed in the condition of the greens. Bunkers were relatively hard and some had standing water in them. The tees and fairways were in good shape. Overall it was a good experience to get the season started.
Course needs some work
The greens were aerated, which is expectable this time of year, however there was just sand laying on all the greens. Many on the greens you couldn't see the grass through the sand. The tee boxes are beat up. You can see grass seed down on some but they are in poor condition and probably should have been addressed last year. Bunkers hold water, some full of mud not sand and fairway bunkers are full of weeds.
For the price of a Hot Deal it's worth a round. Definitely not what they are charging on weekends.
Ed Oliver
Course was in OK shape for middle April. The bunkers were absolutely awful. Like playing off concrete. 80 degree day with no water. Pretty petty. Will play there again but know what to expect.
Great Value
Grabbed hot deal and tried this course for first time.
Liked course was kinda tight and forced good shots. Well placed trees and bunkers. Couple greens had some spots but for $35, this course is well worth money.
Was a very busy day & round took 4 hours 40 minutes with up to 5 minute wait on every tee box.
Looking forward to playing again in future without the 30 mph winds.
Poor maintenance
Situated in a prestigious area of Wilmington, this course is a shame with lack of maintenance. Fairways, bunkers, greens are not playable!
What happened?
First time I played Porky's this year. What happened to this course? New groundskeeper?
Their greens always use to be in good shape. Not now! The tee boxes were beat up and the fairways looked like they were coming back last year. I use to play here a lot. I just couldn't get over the poor condition of the greens. That was always a strength of this course. The women's tee boxes like great.
