Mad Russian Golf Course

Excellent golf at The Mad Russian. The new golf carts are nice with GPS showing distances .

I couldn't figure out why everyone said this course is challenging especially since it is so short....that is exactly why it is challenging. On the shortest holes, you either have to go for the greens or else lay up off the tee where there is rarely any flat landings at all. It doesn't really make sense. Some par 4s you would tee off with a 8 or 9 iron and be left with a longer approach shot to the green. It seems like this course was made one specific type or handicap of golfer (which the story goes...it basically was) but that golfer was not in our group. However it does give the course a lot of charm and character which I enjoyed. It is only a bulldozer and good imagination away from being a great course.

That being said they desperately need a 4th set of tee boxes. The reds are way too short for competitive ladies and the whites are too long for them since they would be playing with the men. Its almost an executive course for women.

Book a tee time at 9:48, arrived early and I was able to go right out as nobody was playing with me. Caught up with the group ahead of me and they let me play through, when I caught up with the next group I decide to join them as there were only three players. We played the last three hole together and then one of the guys left. The Greens are in great shape the fairway are nice for this time of year. Pace of play was good we got done in less than 4 hrs.

We have played this course four or five times since last fall 2025. It’s a great course. It’s in really good condition as of mid October 2026, regardless of the drought conditions in Colorado. It’s a fun course always enjoy it.

Mad Russian was in great shape. Perfect fairways and greens especially in our drought. Great course maintenance! Great play - great pace of play!

This is my favorite little known gem in northern Colorado. Very challenging and very well maintained. Try it for yourself!

1-9 very fun and playable 10-18 very fun but definitely more challenging save your mulligans lol Happy Golfing!

The course has character for sure. It’s fun to play and has some interesting holes. I’d definitely play it again.

The Mad Russian has so many challenges. Every hole offers a new perspective and test! Perfect shape!

This is a good challenging course with a lot of elevation changes and a few cross fairways. Going with regulars ir others that have golfer it before is recorded. I did like the ball and club cleaner and GPS in the carts, you can get coolers too at the clubhouse. I will go play again
