EagleVail Golf Club

About
What's the best way to describe EagleVail Golf Club? A river golf course? A mountain golf course? Actually, it's a little bit of both. It's also a pretty golf course ... and pretty tough. The 18-hole Bruce Devlin and Roger von Hagge design, which opened in 1974, isn't a long golf course by today's standards, but there isn't a lot of room for error. The only true mountain design for a public golf course in the Vail Valley places a high priority on shot placement, and you should as well if you want to have a good score. The tee shot at the par-5 first hole is elevated about 75 feet, there's the red barn at No. 2 (part of the area's agricultural heritage) and there are plenty of elevation changes and breathtaking views as you make your way around. But no matter what you call EagleVail Golf Club, chances are you'll be calling for another tee time once you've played there.

Great day!
Course was excellent and the staff were very informative and friendly. Couple that joined us were very enjoyable to play with. Will play again.
PERFECT DAY, FUN ROUND
If you want to have a great round on this course, you need to play it more than once, At least drive ahead on the challenging holes to get the lay of the land and set up your strategy. More than just good drives, landing areas are very important for your next shot on many of the holes. Most holes are on the narrow side, so beware if you tend to spray.
Course is in great shape. Greens were running fast and hard to gage for a one putts.
Check in was a breeze. Rangers came by regularly to check on things, and were very pleasant.
#1 and #18 are really fun if you smack a drive. #10 will make you smile.
A Must-Play!
My family and I vacationed in Avon over the 4th of July weekend from Texas. It was our first time in Colorado so it was an opportunity to play in a new state. Man, did Eagle Vail golf course represent everything there is to love about Colorado golf! Beautiful scenery, immaculately manicured course, to the courteousness of the staff. If you find yourself in the Vail-Avon area, do yourself a favor and play at the Eagle Vail golf course!
Beautiful round
Super friendly staff. Cautious and courteous. I played as a single and was paired with a wonderful group. I drove up from Denver for rest and relaxation ...wow.... this was it!
Golf near Vail Colorado
What an awesome value in an over priced "tourist trap" area! Fantastic views with dramatic elevation changes. Eagle Vail was a breath of fresh air...literally! Course was in great shape and staff was friendly and helpful. Not overly long, but definitely challenging for most players. Beautiful creeks running thru the property at every turn to remind you to keep the ball in play. The only thing I could "complain " about is the greens rolled at dramatically different speeds making it a little difficult to read. But that is a very minor issue. Overall for the price this is great golf course! I'll be back...this week!!
Awesome mountain course
Great layout and in pretty good shape for June in the mountains. Loved several of the holes especially 9 and 10
Great mountain course
Played this course with my wife and 2 kids (14 and 12). Exceeded our expectations, and we were looking forward to playing there to begin with. Course was in great shape, and the pace of play was perfect. Staff was courteous and followed all Covid-19 precautions. We will definitely be back here as soon as possible.
SLOW Play
Clear that this is a busy golf course with tee times every 10 minutes. Between slower playing golfers and unstable weather (horn blown twice for lightening in the area, altho it never rained) made for a 4.5 hour round with only 14 holes completed as we had dinner reservations.
Great layout and magnificent scenery
Really enjoyed this course! Played with a local man and a couple, all of whom had played the course several times. Course knowledge is very helpful on a few holes. There are some relatively flat holes and others that have significant elevation changes. Several holes have very elevated tees which are beautiful. By the 18th tee there is a sign that says “Elevation 7805 feet”. Greens had recently been punched and sanded so they were a bit bumpy but not terrible. Look forward to playing this course again.
