About

Holes 18
Type Semi-Private
Par 72
Length 7044 yards
Slope 136
Rating 72.7

Legendary golf architects Pete Dye and Perry Dye designed the 18-hole, private course at Plum Creek Golf and Country Club, located in Castle Rock. Opened in 1984, the golf course features 7,044 yards of golf from its championship tees, playing to a par of 72. Dye included various different challenges in this golf course, causing some locals to say that it possesses some of the most difficult holes in the state. The hilly terrain of the well-bunkered course causes many uneven lies. Water hazards also come into play on some holes. Plum Creek Golf and Country Club boasts beautiful views of Castle Rock and the Rockies.

danger Ranger

We played on a slow sunday and let a group of 2 play thru from that moment on we were harrassed by staff to speed up or play a scramble and that we were way behind even though we were only 7 mins off pace acording to the GPS

very frustrating in the fact that we had spent over $500 at this facility...

that said its a great and fun place toplay, but i may consider this info as i make my next tee time likely elsewhere

Excellent mid week round

Played during the week on the Hot Deal from Golf Now. Reservation was complete and easy. I did follow up with the course to make sure they got my reservation from Golf Now. The round was fun. No pressure from following f some and no one in front of us. We played like there was no one around us. Course was challenging. Played in sun, wind, and rain then sun again. Played for fun and not for score

Pete Dye classic

This is a typical Pete Dye classic that will challenge you if your game is not spot on. I played on wet windy day, which made it extra challenging. Some holes seemed repetitive, some were super unique. There seemed to be more residences here than other courses in Castle Rock. The dining facilities were the highlight for me, with outstanding food choices.

Plum is now once again a top level course

Always been a great track, had some down years and condition in the early 2010s but with new management and a new clubhouse, it has become great. With greatness comes much higher $$$ for times of course but, well worth it for 60-80 IMHO. Keep in mind that the old Senior tour used to play here and imagine Miller Barber, Gary Player and other winning here

Good course

Plum Creek is an interesting course but has a weird layout. There are several holes where there are blind shots into water hazards and bunkers that are not on the maps. Very frustrating to hit a 280yd drive to what you think is fairway because of the course map and ends up in a water hazard.

Good Public Course

Everything you would expect from a good public course. Fairways were in very good shape with plenty of deep green rough, native areas and some blind tee shots that you need to know where you're hitting. Nice driving range and warm up area, beverage cart was on the course and timely. Pace was a little slow but I also expect that on a public course.
