Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills - Blue Course
About
The Blue Course is one of four public courses offered at the Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills. Located in the city of Westminster, the Blue Course is a nine-hole, par-36 course that offers over 3,200 yards of golf. The nine holes of the course originally served as the front nine for another course on the premises, the Gold Course. Now, it stands alone as a regulation length nine-hole course and the Gold Course is a separate 18-hole course at the facility. Hyland Hills offers picturesque mountain views as well as finely manicured courses. Golf Digest even rated Hyland Hills' courses as part of Colorado's top 20 golf courses.

blue coarse fun as always
played hyland hills blue course on sunday. as always the staff was very helpful and the course was as good as always except for 2 things. some of the greens are in pretty bad shape, but worse was the group in front of us. they played extremely slow and there wasn't a staff member to either hurry them along or allows us to play through. they were at least 2-3 holes behind the group in front of them. 9 holes took over 2 1/2 hours to play
Dangerous
Many inexperienced players. We almost got hit by another players ball twice and my ball was picked up by other players even though my ball was clearly marked. These 2 groups did not yell fore and the pace of play was awful.
Liked the course
I really liked the course however it took 3 hours to play these nine holes. the groups were very closely together and I found more often that I was looking for shade to stand and wait for the groups in front of me.
Honest review from a regular
It's a somewhat challenging course with plenty of water & bunkers, especially if you play the gold course. The course maintenance is above average. I'm one of the best players that go here regularly, but the pace of play is very slow. It would be nice if they had a marshall or a staff member that checks out the pace of play.
Great place for 9 holes to start your day
Pace is not always great, but it isn’t bad, either. It’s odd competing with the groundskeepers, but they need to get out early, too. I love that they take payment over the phone, so you don’t have to go inside the clubhouse. Course is normally in pretty good shape. Usually, friendly people play here so getting paired up with others is usual pleasant.
Great for Intermediate Players
The Blue course is great for a first round of the season and for players ready for a regulation course but not 18 holes. It is fairly open allowing for mistakes but challenges you with water and trees on some holes. The Par 5s are long and the Par 4s are not straight. The greens were very fast today making some of them border line evil. I trickled a birdie put past the cup on the first hole and it rolled 15 feet past the cup. This is a great value even at the regular price.
Golf
This is the way I like to play golf. There was no one ahead of us or behind us all day. Great to play at a leisurely pace without worrying about people and slow play. The heat caused that but it really wasn't to hot.
Good course just needed more care
Good course just needed to be taken care of a little more
