3rd, par-4, 374 (blues): The fairway plays a bit uphill to this well guarded green. Water, hidden from view here, is to the left. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/29/2022

4th, par-4, 435: Outstanding Al Zikorus-designed hole, featuring a rolling fairway and a green set upon a knoll. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/29/2022

6th, par-5, 570. A long 5-par. It will be a three-shotter for almost everyone. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/29/2022

7th: par-4, 370. Woodhaven is a strong test of driving. Here, the downhill tee shot is tight, the approach more routine. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/29/2022
-
8th: par-3, 180. A tough tee shot faces you on this mid-range 3-par. Long is generally not good; left is worse. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/29/2022

9th, par-4, 400. The finisher favors a tee shot aimed down the left-hand side of this fairway, which tilts a bit left-to-right. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/29/2022

Great Day
Best 9 hole course around, start off whit the white tees 1st 9 and Blue tees 2nd 9. you will be very happy with the course. Has a lot of character and the greens are the real deal. the condition, lay out and atmosphere feels like your on a private course. Be careful in using a Driver on a few holes but by using your irons off the tees puts you in good position for the green , the greens are true and putting into the grain you will have to hit them firm and they will stick on the approach shots.
Great 9 Hole Course - Don't Miss
I booked this on GolfNow for two players. I had never played here before and we went out right on time. The staff were tremendous from the very start and even offered to bring us bottled water on the course (which we accepted) because it was so hot out. The pace of play the entire round was perfect and we never had to wait on any holes. This is a challenging course and you need to keep your drives in the fairway. The greens were in very good condition just make sure to stay below the pin. My favorite hole was the 7th which offered a raised tee box for a downhill drive into the fairway with water on the left. Very scenic hole. Overall this was an absolutely great day and I will definitely be playing there again.. Tremendous value for a 9 hole course. Paul and staff are doing a great job. Thanks again for a great day out. Don't miss this hidden gem in Bethany.
I remember why I have been avoiding playing in the summer at Woodhaven. There is no place were the bugs will not eat you alive. And if they are not biting, they are in your ears, nose....... not just few here or there but swarms. One would think they will spend little money and spray. Not an enjoyable experience
Diamond in the ruff
Well maintained, great layout, a challenge for all types of golfers, try it you will come back
A classic!
I travel from Pennsylvania every year to play with my brother in law on my birthday. This course is what golf is all about. It's a meat and potatoes course from the pro shop to the greens. A place to have a can of beer and a dog when you're through your round. The greens are wicked and true. Don't get caught above the hole! Trust me. Extremely challenging for any level player. The staff is super friendly and the ranger always keeps an eye on pace of play.
Not expecting such a challenge
This place has a great friendly staff. They have a small driving range - irons only. It reminds me of a course I would see on Shell Wonderful World of Golf back in the 60s & 70s. It is does not have very modern facilities but it does have one of the most challenging 9 hole courses I have every played and I have played many. The greens on this course are probably the toughest in the state of CT and the Northeast. They are in great shape and require the most concentration I have ever needed to make par once on in regulation. The tees are tough too with blind shots and shoots that challenge your course management skills. It you make the right choice off the tee you could have a good round. You have to keep your focus when approaching these greens. This course does not care if you are a long or short hitter, it does care if you have great course management and green reading skills. Stay focused.
Nice people
All the people were great...We had a great price on the first nine with Golf Now...When we went in to play another nine we were told it was $20 because we got such a deal on the first nine...I really don't think that's fair, the course is the one that gives times to all of these forums, that's on them...The course itself was ok...The course was in good basic shape...We thought the course needed an all around cutting...Nice layout overall...Sorry, but even with a $14.00 Hot Deal on the first nine, I feel $34 for 18 is steep on this course...
$20 is standard golfnow rate for 9. The $14 for first 9 is a great deal for this course! 18 holes runs $40 on golfnow so they did give you a discount on 2nd 9. I suggest next time booking 18 in order to get the best rate. Sorry if you feel $34 is steep but most who play this course would disagree.
The Friendliest Golf Course in CT
You know that experience when you arrive at a new golf course and the staff gives you that 'you're not a regular here, are ya?' kind of look? Well, you'll never get that at Woodhaven. The folks that run this place always seem appreciative and grateful that you're there. Although this is only a 9-hole course, it's a perfect location to get a short round in while simultaneously experiencing every form of golf challenge: doglegs left and right, uphill and downhill greens, and even a couple of blind tee shots. But of course Woodhaven is known for its challenging greens formations.
Nice woodsy course
Some challenging New England style countours. Some staff members more friendly than others. Enjoyable local nine hole course
Conditions exceptional
The course was absolutely beautiful, the greens were immaculate and true. Not a leaf in the fairways, the tees were pristine.
What a wonderful spring golf round my son and I experienced!
Hidden Gem
Had an enjoyable round on this wonderful New England style golf course. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. They appreciated the Golf Now crowd! The course layout is excellent and challenging with a great mix of wood lined fairways and water views. The greens were well manicured and played very true, even in this early spring weather. The pace of play was excellent with nobody holding us up in front or pushing us from behind. We will return!
Beautiful Course
What a great way to start the season! This course is tucked away in the woods, but worth the drive. The hills allow for great views of the course and the landscaping.
The course is only 9 holes, but it is perfect for me because I only golf a few times a year. The holes are laid out very well and challenging enough to make me want to come back and master them! The staff was very friendly and provided an Easter egg hunt with small prizes in each one. I won a logo golf ball and passed up the egg with the free beer since it was 9:30am :)
It was a wonderful 2 hours of playing!
Highly Recommended!
Great start to the year
Great start to the golfing year. Course was in great shape for the time of the year. Wet but in good condition. Saw a fox on the first hole. Great day of golf.
Always in Great Shape
Course is a great nine hole layout. Always in good shape and challenging.
Really Miss Playing Woodhaven
We've moved to Florida and joined a Club down here. Although the ball rolls forever, there's nothing like playing Woodhaven, especially in the FALL. We miss this beautiful course. Play it if you're anywhere near there in CT. Friendly staff, beautiful layout,
nice long fairways and well kept greens. Some water to contend with but you can keep it out of play if you plan for it. As much fun as you're gonna have without an alligator to contend with! When we go North, we will be sure to stop in for 9.
I have played Woodhaven for many years, it is always in excellent shape and well cared for. I'd give it a 5* but there are more expensive, and thus better quality play, however, they keep it in great shape, the staff is very nice. They know the regulars. Last year was a very tough year in CT due to the drought conditions but I have to say this golf course was in remarkable shape when compared to courses like Oak Lane, Crestbrook (which usually is in great shape.). I can't wait to get back here this year and play.
A 9 hole hidden gem.
A challenging course which really tests your ability to shape shots off the tees. If not make sure you have several sleeves of balls. Once you get to the fairways your short iron game and putting skills will then be tested. Great 9 hole course and if you really want to enjoy the experience play the next 9 form the blues and enjoy the views.
Secret jewel...
I only stumbled across this course via Golfnow and pretty much shy away from 9-holes but this course was an amazing fine. Tough manicured greens and the layout was challenging and top notch. Will def play again.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
The place is great ! The bugs are definitely an issue... On the green especially... Still will play here but maybe it's time to be addressed...
