Get what you pay for
This course is easily the worst course around but i guess yo get what you pay for. 48 bucks for 18 holes and a cart makes it worth playing but the pace of play is awful and the course conditions are terrible
Fairchild Wheeler golf course
Very playable and average golfer friendly; greens rolled true , course was in good condition overall, some tee. Boxes need repair
a round in the hot sun
price was right. A municipal course has a tough time measuring up to a private o r semi-private facility. Very hilly for 4 holes, the rest are open and flat and fairly straight. Some very long par 4's make things interesting and more difficult unless you are a long hitter. Some fairways were in good shape, others were hard to tell where the fairway ended and rough began. And the rough was like a cow pasture in places. Greens in good shape. Pace of play was slow, not that they were that crowded, but because there were a lot of duffers out there and teens. Overall, since the price was right, not too bad a day.
Staffing and ease of play
Fantastic staff that keeps the course humming along to minimize disruption to flow of play.
Always a great layout and great time
With 36 holes, a great staff, a good golf course, and fabulous 19th hole you can’t go wrong. And the greens fees are reasonable. Check it out.
Friendly staff, challenging course
Very hilly, some blind holes. Use every club in your bag. Open, long fairways. Beautiful location. Some cart paths need attention, but overall a good course.
Descent course
Minus the terrible human being with the mustache who thinks he owns the course (he’s a starter), the rest of the staff was wonderful. Course was in descent condition for April. Food is always good here. Very busy, as expected for a Saturday. But mustache man has to go.
Nice bargain round
Great walk for the price. The fairways were a bit bumpy. The greens, too but OK). You can see the tail end of lots of tree removal still. Long walk; very hilly.
Good conditions for time of the year
Played w/ my typical group. Ground was a bit damp at times, but overall very conditions. Course has really come along over the years, and you can tell work is being done clear some trees. Would recommend not just this course, but the Black course as well.
