Makaha Valley Country Club

We loved this course. It is beautiful with great views. We came back twice more because it is such a great value. We feel so lucky to golf in Hawaii at such reasonable rates!

The views of the mountains and the ocean add to the overall scenic beauty of this course. The grounds have been improved and the course is in excellent shape for the cost.

I have played nearly every course on Oahu and this was one of my favorites. Great layout, very quiet course on the leeward side of the island. Staff was friendly, track was moderately difficult (but short for any level of golfer). Pace of play was quick and this place is definitely worth the drive.

Take the time to check it out . Very popular local course with challenging greens and big landing areas. My son and I are here for a couple more days and will return !

The time to drive here from Waikiki is an hour. But each time I played the course in three hours with no waiting, and it's well worth the trip, especially along the west ocean. Course has variety and breathtaking views on each hole, many of the ocean and surrounding mountains. Course is in excellent condition. Greens are somewhat difficult at least for me as a 15 handicap golfer. I played the course several times over the past five years and look forward to returning. Staff very friendly. Ranger tours the course to keep things moving which I love.

It is nice to play with spectacular view with ocean and yellowish brown colored mountains. Course condition is playable.

Love this course. Great deal. The tee boxes could use a little help but other than that, we love this course. Highly recommend.

I played this course because I found a coupon for free club rentals. I couldn't find many pictures so I didn't know what to expect. So many holes had incredible views, and the greens were in great shape. Most holes were long par 4s so there was plenty use of my driver which I enjoyed. The fairways are wide enough to accommodate for tee shots that are not perfect. I had a lot of fun, and would certainly give this course a shot. It is worth the drive.

Played 36 holes in 5 hours. Not a very long or difficult course but some some beautiful views. Good value for the money.

I had a great time at Makaha Valley CC. Staff was very friendly, the course was beautiful, the veiws of the mountains were spectacular. It was not super busy in the morning when I was there so I did 18 holes in 3 hrs and 15 min.

This is a fun course to play. If you are staying in Waikiki, plan on 90 minutes to get there as it is on the opposite end of Oahu. Conditions were good. Only downside was the pace of play. There were a large number of twosomes in front of me (Twosomes seem to be less likely to let a single play through than a foursome). Not the course's fault, but a lot of sitting around led to sloppy play for yours truly.

Makaha Valley worth seeing. Very lush and beautiful. Greens a little rough. Very fun and great value

The views at Makaha make this worth the trip. The staff was friendly and helpful, the location is easy to get to and
The course was very fair. The traps are in great shape. My only complaint was some of the greens needed work... But overall the experience was positive.

Good course worth the drive from Waikiki. It's about an hour and fifteen minutes from Waikiki. Their signature hole #17 is worth the drive.

The fairways were easy to moderate but greens were challenging. Enjoyed my round and very friendly atmosphere

I chose Makaha Valley Country Club thinking the mountain and ocean views would be nice. Instead the views were great! As a plus, the course was challenging, the price was unbeatable, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I lost a head cover while playing and after the round one of the staff members took me back out on the course to retrieve it from a group playing behind me!

Long drive from where I was stay to a mediocre course. For the price they are charging I expected more. Course is short from the tips and the smoothest place to drive your cart is anywhere but the cart path. No beverage service on the course just at the clubhouse and it was very limited on what the had to offer.

1. When I was driving to the course, the tire pressure of my rent car went low. The staff helped me to pump up the pressure, otherwise, I needed to call the car rental company to fix it at my cost.

2. There were two groups of slow players (with ladies) in front of me. It took longer than I expected to finish 18 holes.

Overall, a good experience and I will return. The Greens are in great shape and role true. The starter gave me some pointers and he was spot on...everything breaks to the ocean...fairways as well. The back nine has a couple driver holes if you really want to use it, but it's not necessary.

The driving range was average. New range balls are needed. Practice and chipping greens are good. The cart paths are a bit bumpy and need some repair.

Although I struggled greatly, I still enjoyed this course very much. It can be a little narrow in places, and deep rough is unforgiving. So I did lose several balls. Accuracy over distance. Beautiful views of the surrounding Waianae Mountains and the ocean in the distance. I expected drier conditions, but's it's obviously irrigated very well to be as lush as it is in this area. The finishing hole is especially challenging with its extreme dogleg and elevation changes.
Highly recommend it. I'll be back.
