Terrible Management and Slow Play — Not Worth Booking Again
The management of this golf course is terrible. I booked a tee time for 7:08 a.m., but they didn’t let us start until 7:20, and we didn’t actually tee off until 7:25. The group in front was playing very slowly, causing a traffic jam all the way through, and there was no marshal on the course to manage the pace. By the time we finished the front nine, it was already 10:10. Since I had a flight to catch, I had no choice but to skip the back nine. I paid for 18 holes but only played half the round… I’ll never book this course again.
Lady at check-in ignored us while typing on computer made us wait while she took care of routine duties. Ignored us til she was done typing on computer for some time. Made us feel we were bothering her.
No mention of the greens being sanded when we booked or checked in. As visitors we paid full price ($440 for 2) plus drinks and snacks and discovered on the first hole we played that we had to putt on 18 sand full greens. No discounts and no accommodation.
The management is very inconsiderate. However the starter and cart staff and the snack shop staff were very friendly and helpful.
questionable policy
never did play course!
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with a Hawaiian Island golf trip. We had taken one bag with both our clubs in order not to lug two bags throughout our trip/ airports . We played at Turtle Bay , Ko Olina, King Kamehameha, Kapalua, Wailea Gold, Makai and Po'pu bay. Each of these golf courses gave us a *complementry* bag for us to use during our round.
We arrived at Kapolei Golf Club and was advised that the bag is not complementary but will cost us an extra $75 before tax as they don't allow play from one bag. No where on their site under their fee's is this noted. We didn't feel this charge was justified as all the other high end courses are happy to provide this service at no charge.
On the principal of the matter , we canceled our round and went to another course (TurtleBay)where they value and accommodate their customers who spend VERY large sums of money to play golf.
Kapolei Golf Course
Played Kapolei golf course today and I was really surprised at the course conditions. Not many scenic views, grass brown and sparse in several areas and it took us five hours for a round played before 10am This course is extremely overpriced for the condition and in no way should cost $210. It’s not a bad track for a public course but for the money play Ewa 360 which was fantastic and in great condition. At best Kapolei should charge $90-$100
There are however positives. The staff was super friendly and accommodating 5 stars for them all and especially Klay who made us feel right at home.
One of the best on Oahu
Green condition perfect and fast. Must have been a 11 or there about. Course layout good and something for everyone if you pick the right tee box to play from. Staff was friendly - from bag drop to pro shop to the snack bar. I think Oma top golf destination in Oahu.
Fantastic
Beautiful to look at and a medium challenging course layout. Employees exceptionally nice and very comfortable carts. It's a little windy but fewer rain showers than other areas of Oahu. Definitely a repeat visit.

Aeration Rate with Green sandy
Have played this course 3 times, they just punched greens day before bad time to go and it was rather slow pace waited allot. 445 minutes for the round.
Felt the course was very brown for May; other courses we played were much greener.
Staff was so kind and nice and course was perfect
First rounding with friend and course was nice and good condition. And staff was so friendley and nice makes me feel good.everything was perfect.
Fantastic Views
Great Course
Fast greens
Front Nine bunkers under repair
Good course
The shape of the course is good. Grass conditions superb!
Overall a nice course, but really slow play in the groups ahead of us, seems to be a common theme in the reviews I have read. No Marshall’s on the course to push the pace of play or make the slow groups skip a hole. Lots of false fronts and elevated greens leading to shots landing near the edge of the green and rolling off to a 25yd chip shot. Challenging course.
Only one complaint (well, maybe two)
This was our final round on a 10-day Oahu golf holiday, so we had seen some other great golf courses. I would put Kapolei, though, in the top third of courses in terms of condition, architecture and difficulty. Only had two complaints. When we arrived at the Pro Shop I enquired about whether there was a junior rate for my 15 year old son, and was told that because I booked through GolfPass that he would have to pay the full rate. NO effort whatsoever to correct or compensate for this. Then we were place behind a twosome who were awful. One guy could play, but the other could not. Constantly taking mulligans. Trying to fix his swing in the middle of the round rather than spending more time on the range. Where was the course marshall??
Slow, but course was immaculate
Wide open layout so it probably should have played a little quicker. Almost a 5:30 round. Course was in great shape, plush fairways and greens were not too fast. Lots of water on the back 9 leads to some decision making on the tee. First time playing and would definitely come back.
Great course to play
This was a great golf course to play. It was very challenging , the greens were in great shape and the staff were super helpful and friendly. The only thing that I didn’t like was the cart was very restrictive and hard to move at times. It was a little annoying and think if the boundaries were expanded, would make for a nicer experience. But would play here again
Great track
Wonderful course.and breath taking views. Fairways are perfect, rough is actually rough. A couple holes had some pretty challenging tee shots. Pace of play…set aside your whole day, you’ll be there for a while, but I really didn’t care because I was just admiring the natural beauty of everything.
