Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Hawaii
Good course condition but
After we were suggested to go to first tee, we drove cart to No.1 and found 2 group waiting at tee box and another 2 group on course. It took 15 more min to tee off.
First nine hole was very slow pace and every shot we 3 sum need to wait. There was no Marshall on duty.
Course condition and layout was pretty fair but if you want to play in Hawaii, I recommend you to play on other island like big island.
Traveled to Hawaii and wirh some free time, wanted to play a course with ties to the PGA/LPGA.
It would be impossible to say enough good things about the staff. While they were all amazing. Scott was the best. Even to the point of bringing a bottle of water when the machine at the range was empty.
The course is in phenomenal condition and the greens flawless. Probably rolled at 10. If you're off the fairway, the rough will eat your ball and settle at the bottom. You'll be fortunate if you can advance the ball much.
One layout comment is that you shouldn't have to layup on a par 5 off the tee which happens once. Other than that, super layout.
Other small issue is the range was using mats that day and there were no tees to hit drivers. Still, the overall practice facility is great.
Pace was slow as the 2 groups in front were playing the wrong tees, hungover and both showed.
The next trip to Hawaii will definitely include another round here.
Love this course. It's tough on a windy day, but the course is always in great shape and it's fair. I'd recommend this to anyone with experience golfing (not for beginners).
Stuck behind. “Regulars”
Paid non resident rate of $165 USD only to be subject to a painful delayed start (15m) and Pace of play dragged down by a foursome who dropped two holes behind the group in front of them by about 7 holes in- called Marshalls out 3 times who spent more time talking to us than the problem group because - “ yeah well they come out once a month and we know them and they can be a bit slow…” (I wasn’t aware that pace of play doesn’t apply to regulars. /s) -tried to play through but got attitude instead from the 4some- great course conditions but they need to enforce pace of play - not only by the time clock but also by the “keep up to the group ahead of you or let the group behind you play through” policy -
Would have made this course more enjoyable
Kapolei golf course
Golf course was in Excellent condition! Pace of play slowed on the last four holes but Enjoyed my round and will play here again.
Kudos to the Kapolei staff!
A little pricey for not being near the ocean. The course is very similar to a course back home but over $100 more I don’t understand why vacation states gouge non residents All n all the course is beautiful and in great shape
Excellent shape. Pace of play very slow. No Marshall seen. Very windy on back 9
Great Course/Slooooooow Play
This is my 4th round at Kapolei.
As usual, the layout & course conditions are terrific.
Well maintained & true greens at 8-9 in the stimp meter.
Had to wait at every tee box after the fifth hole.
