The long second hole, a par-4 which doglegs left to reach this raised green, measures 439 yards from the blue tees. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

No. 4 at Tunxis White is a tight par-3, its green guarded by water and by Town Farm Road. Par is a very good score here. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

It’s gorgeous scenery, but a watery grave will be the fate of golf balls falling well short of green eight. Ditto for misses long or left. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

My path to green twelve was crossed today by two families of Canada geese. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

A pond bisects the seventeenth fairway, and may tempt big hitters to fly it off the tee–if their desire is a wedged approach. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

Among the premier holes at Tunxis White are those with greens set on mini-peninsulas. The par-4 seventh is the first you’ll encounter. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Eight. Par-3, 164. The second peninsular green may give some golfers jitters on the tee. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Ten. Par-4, 347. My favorite hole. A ‘simple’ drive-and-pitch hole to this green, water-guarded everywhere but in front. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021
-
Twelve. Par-4, 376. A masterful hole--maybe the course’s best--ending on a cleverly contoured green (upon another peninsula). Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021
-
Four. Par-3, 176. Overdraw your tee shot and your golf ball will be deep-sixed. That’s frost you see in the shadows. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Well maintained and friendly staff
Played the white course and will return to play the green course.
White course, nice course !
We played the white course this past Friday and it was in great condition. The white course was without a doubt setup for beginners. The par 3's never exceeded 160 yards, the par 4's average 380 yards and there is a par 5 or two that are very reachable in two shots. All but three holes have wide open fairways that are wicked hard to miss and the greens were just slow enough to ensure beginner putters could handle them.
The one issue I had with the course was the lack of yardage markers. While almost every sprinkler head was properly marked, the lack of standardized 150 and 200 markers slowed down the pace a bit due to our Easter egg hunt after sprinklers after every shot.
Great but...
Everything was terrific ... But... There was no beer girl on course.. 95 degree day - woulda been nice to have a Gatorade available
Well-maintained. Fair mix of hole types, but could be better with a couple more long Par 4s.
Played at noon on a Saturday, and much to my surprise and delight, finished the round in just 3.5 hours. We did not have to wait on the tee until #15. Like all of Tunxis the White is well-maintained. My only complaint is that the greens were as slow as a Southern drawl.
The White is a very walk-able course, but because I booked on GolfNow, I accepted the power cart which was included - one of what appears to be a new fleet.
Overall, a very positive experience.
5+ hour round on a Saturday afternoon
The course was in good shape despite a lot of recent rain. A couple of us got their minutes before out tee time due to traffic. The starter was very understanding and let us know there was time to relax and tee off. Playing from the white tees, there were a lot of very short par fours. Four greens were surrounded by water in a clover leaf pattern. If it weren't for the pace of play, 5+ hours, it would have been a great day. Never saw a ranger, however.
Not the best but playable
Tunxis is the one course I have found where most of the course is in good shape. The fairways don't give you a lot of roll, but I also played a couple days after it rained. Grass is nice and green in the fairways with no dirt spots. Greens were also in good shape. My one complaint with these greens will always be the receptiveness of them. It seems like even with a wedge my ball will bounce forward a number of feet when it lands.
The other part about this course I don't like is how thick the rough is. I guess they don't call it "rough" for nothing. I probably missed about 7 fairways by about 4-5 feet and all I could do was chop it out. and hope to get it close to the green. Driving the ball straight is a must in my opinion.
I only play this course because of how cheap it is. If I found a better course I would consider playing that one instead.
Pleasant course
Pro Shop was nice, Starter was nice, the White Course was average and in decent shape, nothing super memorable, but a good value for a tee time deal
great course
located minutes from home is a plus, but overall have played all 3 courses and always enjoyed it, greens are perfect, traps have lots of sand, the ruffs around the fairways a little thick make for a good challenge.
Great course - Great Value
Thoroughly enjoyed our round of golf on the White Course. Excellent conditions. We would return on our next trip to the area.
Clubhouse staff was very friendly and helpful, the course played very well with nice fairways; punishing rough; and challenging bunkers
I loved playing the White course here at Tunxis. The biggest thing is the pace of play was great! I finished 18 in 4 hours and I didn't feel rushed or pushed at all....The starter was very friendly and got me out earlier without a hitch. The course played very well....fairways were divot free for the most part, rough was exactly that (rough), and the bunkers were well maintained. The greens played fast and were in great shape. I would definitely play here again, no questions asked!
Enjoyed the round.
Had a great time on this very good course on a perfect day.
AWESOME DEAL AND GREAT COURSE
WOULD LOVE TO GET THIS DEAL ALL THE TIME. FIRST TIME I PLAYED THIS COURSE BECAUSE OF GOLF NOW AND I WILL PLAY THERE AGAIN BECAUSE OF IT.
The course is in great condition.
This course is in the best condition of all the courses we've played this spring. A bonus was there weren't many golfers there, so the round took 3 hours.
All three courses are very nice.
Very enjoyable courses with some very challenging holes. No negatives. In very nice shape with excellent greens.
Good course for all levels of golfers.
Tunxis is a course for all golfers. It is always in great shape,is flat enough for all walkers to enjoy and is difficult enough with some of the water holes to challange the better golfers. The greens yesterday wer beautiful.
great condition, no problems
great practice facility. flat course but in great condition. friendly staff
Course was in great condititon
Course was well maintained. Pace of play was slow due to inexperienced foursome in front of us. We played the white course, many nice wide-open fairways if you like to bomb it. Overall, a very nice course and I will play it again soon.
Very nice course layout and facility
Starter could be a little more freindly course condition was good as was expected for price
