Old Bridge Golf Club

A welcome addition to the area. This is the gem of the county. I live in Monmouth County and enjoy several great old school courses in the system. The “Rose” as it is branded is enjoyable to play. I went on a cold windy day and played a solo round. This prior to allowing golf carts, which is okay because I prefer walking. The fairways, tee boxes, fairways and greens are pristine. The open style back 9 is both forgiving and challenging. The front nine has several holes that have tree lined fairways and will be perfect once in full bloom.

The greens are large and undulating allowing for lots of putts if your green reading and roll speed are off. Great staff, great experience. This course is going to be crowded and expect long rounds once the secret is out! Hopefully the $65 green fee will discourage overcrowding. Thank you Old Bridge for replacing a private course with a public course.

Beautiful course but could not use my GPS and

no yardages markers on any hole

Played Wednesday with three other singles. It was a Hotdeal time slot so I paid $45 to walk. Great vibe just pulling into the parking lot!

Pro shop attendant was pleasant and the starter Bob spent about 15 minutes going over the nuances of the course.

Overall, the course was phenomenal! Great layout, wide fairways for the most part but some challenging fairways which slope towards water that can't be seen in some areas.

THE GREENS, HOWEVER ARE ANOTHER ANIMAL....LOL

All HUGE, many multi-leveled and undulating. If the pin- placement guy wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, WATCH OUT!!!

Between the 4 of us, you can almost count the number of two-putts on one hand. You definitely need a range finger on your approach shot into the greens, they are THAT big!

Some downsides...

Turf still new, aerated and patchy in spots but you can tell it will be pristine when grown in.

NO MARKINGS WHATSOEVER on the course so you need every GPS gadget you have in your bag (and don't forget to update them/ download the course onto them)!

There are no 150yd poles, 100, 150, 200 yd ground markings, marked sprinkler heads, etc. .

Bob told us at the start that they won't be needed because the carts (which are coming mid-April) will have GPS.

But what about the walkers Bob???

Besides the first tee, no ball washers, benches and only TWO trash cans on the course.

Hopefully The Rose (aptly named) will get enough complaints about these things and will be forced to act.

But even if they don't you'll see me regularly on the course!

Excited to have another option close to me in Woodbridge. Staff is super friendly and cares about your experience. Course is still fresh and needs to grow in at spots but they are protecting it with no carts until 4/15. Very hilly + links-esc at times when the wind whips. Greens and course knowledge will definitely come into play as it develops. Some of the greens were just outrageous with the gullies in the center of them that made it seem wild that hitting the middle of the green punished you. Definitely will be a return customer and only real complaint was it was a little pricey but not over the top.

Long overdue golf course built in OB has the wow effect. They designed the course to bring the game back to being “doable” with a Links style but some tight fairways in the front 9. If you want flat even greens this is not that course. Your putter will get challenged. Driving range was a treat, looking forward to many many more rounds

Links style course with a lot of undulating fairways and greens. Every hole is different having character and framing. Fun downhill mid to long iron par 3 onto a peninsula green. Love playing courses with the challenges of hitting off uneven lies to take your game to the next level!

Tee to green, course is in excellent shape for this time of year (early March). Course has excellent drainage.

Unfortunately, there is no chipping area, but a huge putting green. Driving range is nice with tightly mowed Target flags.

Pro Shop is well stocked and merchandised professionally featuring the Rose logo.

Looking forward to playing again once the greens return to fast conditions in the Spring.

Well done to the entire team involved in bringing the course to Central Jersey. This is now my favorite course in NJ!

This course is a perfect example of not every golf course needs crazy contours on the greens to be a good course. I question the routing and Green complexes made by the architect on such a modern golf course built as a municipal course. The second hole is a drivable par four and the fourth hole is a Downhill blind reachable par five. With a par 3 mixed in, I’m curious how pace of play will be at this course once word truly gets out and everyone comes to see the new course.

Although the official opening won't be until Spring 2024, I was very lucky to have gotten a sneak peak at this course. Well designed layout with very large and challenging greens. Turf was still immature but the greens were perfect. When the rough and rescue grows in it will play much harder. Nice driving range, large putting greens, onsite mini golf, pro shop looked nice but it wasn't open yet. Hopefully they will build a a short game practice area. can't wait to play it next Spring.

Great course. Wide fairways but a mix of open, tree lined, and hazards for a nice mix of challenges and scenery. Great variety of holes. And those greens! Lots of undulation and nice and fast relative to muni courses. Only complaint is first group out on a Saturday (in front of us) played in 4hrs 45 minutes so we waited on every shot once we caught them on the 3rd hole (and tee times were spaced 20 minutes). I just hope this doesn’t become the norm. Maybe when earlier tee times are available this will be less of an issue since the 4.5 hour round crowd tend to play mid morning or later. But overall this course is truly a gem.

As a local, i was waiting patiently for this beauty to finally open. The course is as advertised- PRISTINE, thoughtful and a real beauty to be on. It’s not a constant driver off the tee course, as you really need to think about navigating each hole. Now the greens in the other hand….. the greens were firm and tough to hold, but they rolled great. I would like to speak to the person responsible for the absolutely insane rollercoaster style hips, spines, TITAL WAVES OF UNDULATION… they might need to see a therapist for anger issues! I’ll put it this way, if you make a put from 3 feet or greater, throw yourself a nice Tiger style fist pump, you deserve it!!

Private country club caliber course . Impressive landscape and atmosphere.

Amazing job making this course. Awesome designs, perfect fairways and greens. Front 9 was my personal favorite but all around a really amazing course.

They did a great job designing this course. We had a blast playing. No one hole is the same and it will take a while to learn the course. Greens are huge with significant undulation. Greens and tee boxes are in excellent condition, and outside the first hole, fairways are in good condition. The round took about 4:30, as it took a while to search for balls in the thick rough. Can’t wait to play again.

As a new golfer (1-2 months) and living not too far, I saw their post on IG and decided to check out the range to work on technique and relax. Disclaimer: I did not play the course nor did I see it.

The parking lot is huge and the layout is nice with the large practice putting green, miniature golf and range all behind the clubhouse.

The driving range consists of 30 bays in one row. The lighting was really good. And the view was awesome with the sun setting. This is probably nothing new to experienced golfers but for a newbie like myself, it looked like golf-heaven. This is my new spot. Oh, and the folks who worked there were really nice.

Course in great shape and staff was super friendly. Can’t wait to be able to use the carts in April. Will play again for sure

As the 4xglenwoodcupchamp I’m very excited for this course to open up. If it’s like the glenwood course I think I will have no problem with it. Felt bad for winning so much so I let another guy with it 3 times.

I have taken a ride around the property, and it does look to be a pleasing layout. Very much looking forward to having a new upscale facility in OB. Could you please post an update of when we can expect to have access. Thanks.
