Nice course, good condition.
Amenities were ( clubhouse, bar, bathroom, etc ) were subpar at best.
Done
Troon should be removed from managing Middlesex County golf courses immediately. They ruined Tamarack, which had to be redone, then destroyed The Meadows, and now Raritan Landing has suffered the same fate. The greens are unplayable, the tees are nothing but dirt, and the overall experience is consistently terrible.
I love this course
The course is amazing, facilities are great and people are nice. Only issue I had was the pace of play on the back 9 was slow but under a 5 hour round overall
Good course that could be great.
I was checked in by a woman who was unfriendly and didn’t offer me any information about the course, practice area, where to get range balls or that there was a range and no guidance on where to check in to play. The range was nice and the mats were in good shape. The chipping area and separate putting practice green were nice. The starter was friendly when I found him.
Overall nice layout with fantastic bunkers and greens. It seems like a popular spot and was very crowded which led to the slow pace.
The newly renovated West course is great!
Tamarack West is nicely done. A little more challenging than the East and the greens and aprons were in great shape. Would definitely play here again.
Underwhelming
I’ve played the East course several times and I was hoping the West Course would be nicer. I’m a little disappointed. It’s not really a good value for the money paid.
It’s all about money
I have played both east and west courses and they are both good courses to play. The west course is a little too much money. It should be priced the same as the east course.
Some work still needed
Overall I liked playing Tamarack’s West course. The layout is nice with some fun holes. The sand traps were in excellent condition as were most of the fairways. The tee boxes were a different story. They were either not mowed, it was like you’re teeing off in the rough or there was more dirt than grass. The beverage cart service was very good as was the snack shack at the turn. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They should put images of the hole layout on the scorecard or at the tee boxes so that golfers have an idea where to aim and what hazards are present. The 18th hole is a short par 3, not the ideal way to finish your round.
Solid track
Never played here before the renovations. Pros: West Course was in great shape, nice fairways, bunkers. A couple boxes beat up, greens almost back after punched but nothing too bad. Course was fun, lots of variety. Pace moved great. Cons: Didn't see a drink cart come through. Pay process for food at turn was slow. Range ball value, bad. Round maybe a touch pricey, would love to see it closer $80 w cart. Overall: solid track. Had fun. Give it a play.
New West
Played the morning after some pretty heavy rain midafternoon the day before so I was worried it would be a mess. Other than a couple of spots, the course was drained pretty well. It was cart path only to be safe, but overall it was in good shape. A couple of spots still need to be tweaked it looked like but they did a very good job rehabbing this. A few doglegs, and whomever did the 9th green, just evil!
Nice course
This is the first time to play here.
I played west course. It seems newly opened.
I like the overall layout and green conditions are good.
