Great course, better staff.
The course was immaculate. The greens rolled true and there were no leaves on the course. The gentleman in the Pro shop was incredibly friendly and the Rangers were also incredibly friendly. Would play again, highly recommend!

Always in great condition. Course offers a variety of different style holes. Scoreable.
Interesting layout and good pace of play
Timberlin is always a fun round of golf with pace of play close to 4 hours. Course conditions are usually pretty good with greens that are moderately fast. The staff at Timberlin is always friendly and the hot dogs are the best!
Classic CT parkland course
One of the nicest Munis in Central CT. Challenging but fair layout, you’ll need to hit every club in the bag. Green fees always fair, very walkable, friendly. Food in the clubhouse is good, great junior program too.

The course was in super condition!! Sand traps were full of SAND!! The starter inside the pro shop was super!
Fairways and greens were in peak condition.
One issue....it seems a couple of the older gents that pay for the yearly fee need to schooled on how to act on the golf course. Once we got past these two clowns the day was awesome!!

Unbelievable conditions for this time of year! Leaves cleared and everything. If it wasn’t 44 degrees, I would’ve thought it was May!

Look, I play golf courses all over Eastern CT, from CT National to Norwich Country Club and Western Rhode Island. Timberlin is literally seven minutes from my house, and it is one of the BEST tracks I play on! Course conditions are ALWAYS mints. Staff is super-friendly. And, the course is challenging.
In a ranking system of 1 - 10, Timberlin warrants an 11!!!
Awesome Bunkers!
It's been many years since I've played this course and I forgot how enjoyable it is - but the best part was the condition of their bunkers! I play many course in Central CT and some in Western MA and everyone of them have lousy bunkers. Timberlin has figured out how to make their bunkers playable - there is actually sand in them - go figure. Just about every other course's bunkers have a thin layer of sand with hard clay just underneath. You basically have to "hit and hope" that your wedge doesn't bounce off the clay sending your ball screaming over the green, or close your club face and chunk the ball towards the flag with an unpredictable result. At Timberlin, you can actually open the clubface and swing with confidence that if you use good technique, you'll get a fair result. I don't know why other courses in the area can't replicate this!?! The layout is good with no two holes alike and the conditions of the fairways and greens were excellent. I'll be back (and if you're an area course supervisor/greens keeper, maybe you should inquire with timberlin on how to improve your bunkers).
