Fun course but Boyne missed the mark on price point
This course replaced what was formerly a free par 3 course. It’s a creative design and well maintained, what you typically expect from Boyne. Unfortunately they are charging $50 for 9 holes that are <150 yards which seems excessive. I’m local and used to play the free short course a few times a week. At $50 I can’t see myself playing this more than 1-2 times a season. You can play 9 holes on a full Boyne course for close to this price. $25-30 would be more appropriate and the course would get a lot more play. Other par 3s that charge this kind of price (sand box, tree tops) are a clear notch above and warrant the price. Hoping the lack of play leads Boyne to reconsider price point - it was dead quiet over the holiday weekend.
It’s not ready to be opened
There were no tee boxes. If I’m paying $50 to walk 9 holes up the side of a ski hill, I’d at least like tee boxes. With that being said, the greens were in great shape and there were some impressive sand traps. It just wasn’t worth the price tag for me.
With that being said, I’ve heard they have night golf where they turn on the lights they use for skiing. That might make it worth the money for a one time play because it’s something unique.
