Course Highlights
Indian Springs stands out among nine-hole courses for its challenging layout featuring elevation changes, two par 5s, and consistently well-maintained fairways and greens. Friendly staff and outstanding value for money make this Connecticut gem a course worth returning to.

Indian Springs Golf Club in Middlefield has been owned and operated by the same family since it first opened in 1964. With a terrain of rolling, tree-covered hills, the course is as scenic as it is fun to play. The nine-hole layout is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels and there is an alternate set of tees to play an 18-hole round. Though many of the fairways are wide and forgiving, there are a few tricky blind shots that will test your accuracy. The par-5 second hole is one of the most memorable. It leads you uphill before plummeting downhill to a green protected by three sand traps. Indian Springs Golf Club's second par 5, the tree-lined fifth hole, is also notably tricky. The fairway edges along mature forests, leading to a sharp dogleg right downhill to the green, which is surrounded by trees.

Nice location

Great views from the course. Some tough angled fairways, and several blind drives and tough greens. You will enjoy the challenge, or be annoyed by it. Very New England landscape.

My family really likes this course.

Skip this one!!!

Rudest people I have encountered at a golf course. I tried to switch my tee time with two other people who were waiting for a late arrival. It all made complete sense, until the course operator showed his complete lack of customer service skills. The course operator continuously badmouthed GolfNow by citing "we don't make any money off these rounds" to which I responded "Then why subscribe to their service?" I was treated like a second class citizen. And to add insult to injury, the miserable person at the snack shop refused to cook a hot dog for me, citing "a backlog of orders" which made no sense on a half empty nine hole course.

The course itself was in fair condition, the pace was slow and based on the above, it is now on the "banned course list."

Consistently good golf

As usual, Indian Springs keeps its course in great shape. The greens are very challenging and provide great practice for any course around. You can't beat the value, especially when booking with GolfNow.com

Over priced but fun.

Fun little course in good shape. #2 is long, you must stay to the right or you go down hill badly on the left. #5 has big tree right in the middle of the fairway, stay left or down the hill badly to the right, blind shot to the green. Green at #6 has steep slope from back to front, stay below the hole or you could roll back off green. #8 fairway slopes hard left, you'll need to club up for approach.

OK for quick outing but overpriced for 9 holes.

Only drawback, wish it was 18.

Love this course. Can't wait to play 5th hole again. Keep thinking I can hit green in two. Keep trying, if I catch my drive perfectly, maybe.........

Fun romp if you can hit the ball straight

If you spray your ball around, there are certain spots where you just cant go and expect to find your ball. You rarely get a level lie, but as a short course with very little trouble except severe side hill slopes where your ball may roll into the woods it allows for easy scoring if you can keep the ball in play. Memorable holes with lots of character - the 2nd par 5 with a tree guarding the left and a sever slop guarding the right on the tee shot, followed by a medium length layup to a blind shelf before the world ends, followed by a wedge down an almost vertical slope is the most fun i have had on a course in quite some time. If you are not tied to 18 holes, go! you will not regret it. very well conditioned greens that rolled well without being overly fast.

Best in early morning

Not a bad place if you want to play nine holes early and then head to work. You can play in under an hour and a half riding. Course is decent and ranges in price from 20-30 dollars. There are better deals on golf now, but there is rarely a souls around at 7am. You have the course to yourself and if you want to play two balls it is perfect, use it to tune up my game!

Great course for the money

Course is in great shape. The greens are just as good as as the TPC in Cromwell. With Golf Now, only paid $17 a person with cart. Can't beat that deal.

Great out of the way Course

This is an excellent nine hole course. It has a nice blend of challenge and relaxing holes. The 19 hole is a great place to have a drink and talk about the round. The staff is always helpful and friendly.

Great value for a quick 9

Indian Springs is tucked away in the hills of Middlefield, which is redundant since Middlefield itself is a tucked away town. The hilly 9-hole course gives players much to think about as they make their way around. The course was in good shape with quick greens that required a delicate touch, particularly on any downhill or sidehill putts. Reasonably priced and easy to get tee times makes this a good choice for an impromptu round.

Course is built a very large hill

Who builds a course on a hill, on two fairways the greens are sloping down, so even if you hit it straight your ball is going to roll down into oblivion. It was not fun looking balls all afternoon.
