Just too HOT
At least they had WATER on the course.
Oak Hills Park GC, Norwalk CT is a public course, and was in great shape…the greens are as good and as fast as most private country clubs…the course is well maintained, ESPECIALLY as it’s one of the busiest clubs in the state…lots of flowers and plantings, plenty of wildlife, the bunkers were very well maintained with some of em new, the same with the tees as some of them are new like the 1st hole…everyone is very pleasant and help…there was a cart girl driving around all day with drinks and snacks, a halfway house with same at 10th tee and a good relatively new bar restaurant in the clubhouse…all good, look forward to my groups next round there👍👏
Really just solid
Pace of play tends to be an issue, but the course is always fun. Opens up on the back 9, hot dog stand at the turn always hits
Slow
Course in a good shape. Way too slow, need Rangers to push slow folks. A lot of blind shots here
Worth Every Penny
Oak Hills Park is as close to country club conditions as you will find on a municipal course. The greenskeeping staff does an outstanding job. It's not an easy course, and it definitely helps to know the lay of the land as there are plenty of blind shots. The greens are sweet and have been rolling fast most of this spring.
Wet and sloppy
The front 9 were extremely wet and some holes were flooded out in key areas
Experienced Golfers Beware.
One of the worst pace of play experiences I have had in CT. Played at 9am on a Monday, and despite asking the ranger twice, we spent every shot waiting for the group ahead of us (tee to green). No one in front of them, but no one telling them otherwise, excuses no one at this course cares.. Staff is irrelevant to players’ pace of play, but it seems like a cozy retirement gig! And for $60+ greens fees & $10+ IPAs as if it’s a bar in manhattan, I expected much better pace and course management… will be going back to Richter / Ridgefield / Whitney Farms.
Golf
Course was in very good condition. It’s good case.
