Quarry Ridge Golf Course

Quarry Ridge is not a long course, but it more than makes up for it with tight landing areas, and deceivingly tricky greens - not to mention the downhill and uphill lies you get do to the slopes associated with being built in an old quarry. Course conditions were fantastic, and staff was very friendly. Some of the views are really great.

Overall, just a great round of golf. We got paired with a single who knew the course and that helped ALOT. Just a great day of golf - perfect weather, beautiful course, great playing partner, friendly staff.

You wish every round could be like this one.

Some very challenging holes, tight fairways and tough steep landscapes off the fairway keep you to hitting the fairways. Greens are in excellant condition.

Great day for golf, weather was perfect! Aside from tee boxes in poor shape, the course played well and rather quickly. If you’ve never played here, the signage to direct you to the next hole is really the only thing that should be improved. Overall it’s a great place to play, very scenic and challenging

Overall OK. Keep it in the fairway. I like the course layout.. The hilly terrain makes it a good challenge. Some work is needed on a few holes off the greens but the greens were in good shape although a little bit slow. Bunkers were in good shape.

This is a very interesting course due to the terrain, since it was built around an old quarry. Hence it rewards accuracy. You earn your pars here. You hit up, you hit down, your cart gets a workout; don't even try to walk it. The course is in good condition and very scenic. although golfers could more frequently repair their divots and ball marks on the greens. The clubhouse looked good and the staff were courteous. For something different, I highly recommend this course.

Course takes a little time to get use to, but is pretty good. Greens don’t have the green color but are good. Good value

The greens were in terrible shape, divot marks everywhere, didn’t roll right at all. Rough was in pretty good shape in most spots. The grounds crew was not considerate while play was going on (even right in front of them), and fairways were decent.

The course was not in as good as condition as I thought it would be. I had played the course several years ago and remembered the course to be in better condition (more lush...)..

The layout is somewhat tricky. I realize it was built in an old quarry but I don't expect to see rock walls in the fairway!

Course was in very good shape and had challenges for everyone in my foursome . Beautiful scenery throughout the course and driving the ball well on this course makes for a very pleasing round. As all the par 5’s are reachable in 3. 2 if you are a long hitter. Will definitely be back to Quarry Ridge for another round !!

Pace of play was fantastic, and overall, the course was in pretty good condition. The drives are quite tight on this golf course, so accuracy is a must off the tee. Greens rolled very nicely.

...we played from the tips (black). A lot of fun, but only if:

a) you are bomber with the driver

b) you hit the ball relatively straight

The Quarry's defense is the tightness of its fairways. You're in for a long-ish day if you tend to spray the ball. There's a nearly 400-yard diference between the blues (59ish) and blacks (63ish), so it is a challenge.

But, if you mostly can say "yeah, that's me" to a) and b) above, playing from the blacks is a lot of fun!

As always, staff -- from proshop to starter, to cart girl -- are extremely friendly and seem to be genuinely happy that you picked Quarry Ridge for a round of golf.

Only thing lacking here is a driving range, but Portland West -- and executive course literally two minutes for QR -- has one.

I cannot say enough about the upkeep and maintenance at Quarry Ridge, fantastic. John Lucas and Mark Erwin have always been friendly, accommodating and go out of their way to make sure you get the most out of your golfing experience. I've played here for a number of years now and always enjoy the course, especially in the fall. Beautiful pictures waiting to be taken. All of the staff have always been helpful and friendly. I recommend this course to anyone. Some say but it's short, okay, well then you should shoot a low score but rarely is the case except for decent golfers. The price is right. Thanks as always.
