Quarry Ridge Golf Course

Don’t walk !! You’d have to be a billy goat to walk this course. Having said that, the views are awesome. I imagine in the fall it would be spectacular. Definitely a target golf course. Not a lot of room for small mistakes. Greens are good. Wind was horrible the day we played, which made it extremely difficult. All in all though, a good course.

Fairways were awful

Looks like they mowed while it was muddy and scraped the turf. Extremely slow play

It's sorry to see the course in this condition. I was in the men's club at this course for thirteen years.And they always had problems with water. I offered to do some work there for them for free.But they declined. The new owner has it on the market for sale. So they are not putting any money into it. The tea boxes are in bad shape.The fairways are in fairly bad shape.And the greens are in poor shape.

Great challenging course and staff is great. Will definitely be back again.

Greens were kept in good shape. Rest of the course is horrible. Tee boxes all weeds. Fairways burned out. 5 hour round with players acting like they play on the PGA. Food in restaurant was good.

Overall, the course was in pretty good shape for early August. The course is cart only as the elevation would make it challenging for any level of walker. Course speed was a bit slow but not terrible. Overall challenging and I enjoyed the round. My only complaint would be that a few of the holes seemed a bit wet both on the fairways and in the rough. Quarry Ridge was about a 40 minute drive for me one way...happy to have played but probably not enough there for me to want to go back even considering how nice the restaurant and outdoor seating areas were! If you are local, it's definingly worth a try for the value.

The course sits high on the hill with sweeping views, granite outcroppings, and a layout that feels carefully and beautifully designed. Every hole shows real attention to detail—the routing, the conditioning, and the way the natural terrain is used make it one of the most memorable public courses I’ve played in Connecticut.

I thoroughly enjoyed the round from start to finish. The setting alone elevates the entire day, and the course itself delivered both challenge and enjoyment.

I already recommended it to several friends and will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Great layout greens in great condition don’t know why all the negative reviews

The course was great. However, with temperature over 90 degrees there were no water coolers available on the course and no drink cart.

I booked my round on GN, no problem, $126 due at course. When I arrived, I was charged $150 and told “that’s the rate”.The guy at the desk had a bit of an attitude and really didn’t want to hear it. I showed him the phone it didn’t matter. “Not my problem “. This is something you need to fix between Quarry Ridge and GN. It was upsetting, especially the way it was handled at the desk, it will upset others until it is resolved.

Never played, always wanted to. Played with a cool cat local who basically stated course is good for $40 with cart, but basically, rough conditions...so I was forewarned and he could not be more accurate; tee boxes, fairways trashed, absolute no bunkers and not even trying to make bunkers yet there is a rake there for optimism...greens and approach spots were the only areas of decent condition. Hilly course much like the rest of New England. Decent layout, but dont expect much else. Cheers
