You can find Crestbrook Park's boldest green at the par-4 15th. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 06/25/2018
The ranger was very nice. We are not the best or fastest and he let folks go by that he knew were quicker. Will definitely walk when it's cart path only.
One of CTs better courses
Best staff. Course is in good condition, tee boxes a bit chewed up but we got tees :) for $65 with a cart I would play here more often if possible. Golf in western CT is pathetic 85+ for mediocre experiences. Thanks crestbrook
Unknown scrabble
I booked a 8 o’clock am tee time , but when I arrived there were like 40 people there with the same tee time . Turns out we were all designated as a scramble and had to start at different holes , which was kind of chaotic , I probably wouldn’t have booked if I knew this . I expected to have a normal day of golf starting at hole 1 , there should have been a disclaimer from golf now or crestbrook or something to tell you ahead of time that the format , it was very disappointing to find this out last minute
Crestbrook, would be great for tournament play
We had no problem getting a reservation, play was great we had a good time and the people we were matched up with were good people also, and for the money Chris Brook is a great Golf Course red summer mayonnaise, whenever you go there it's always in good condition the people are always friendly, and it's a course that you will want to play again and again, Chris Brook is located in between Waterbury and Torrington which makes it a great location as far as travel distance, I just wish that they would do something about their messaging system, every time I call there they wanted me to enter my phone number and then they wanted me to put in a PIN number which I know nothing about, and everyone I asked about the pin number knew nothing about it and said it was a pain in the butt, some people are not as computer literate as others and would like to talk to a real person so I hope they fix that issue.
My Favorite
I've played thes course many times and keep coming back to it. It's in great condition.
Decent Value
The layout and turf quality was fine. Bunkers were substandard. Great pace of play -- just under 4 hours on a weekend morning. The facility (shop and concession) were pretty rustic. The deficiencies are offset by the reasonable cost so there is value there. Worth another look at some point.
Challenging course but slow greens
Crestbrook Park is a challenging course with a solid layout but the greens were long and extremely slow which made for an unpleasant experience.
Just wasn't that enjoyable of a round and probably wouldn't go back there unfortunately. The weather has been tough lately but those were the slowest greens I have ever played. Putting for both of us was awful and the two nines seem very different from each other. Lots of tough lies, the front nine greens were long and fertilized with a granular and the cups hadn't been changed so putting just sucked. The back nine was a little better but still very difficult to get into a rhythm.
First Time There, Won’t Be The Last
Great course. Course was in very good shape and the holes were fair and challenging. Definitely will play again!
The course was mostly good except the tee boxes were all in terrible condition. The pace of play was a little slow because in the group in front of us it seemed that there was a new golfer who was trying to learn the game. I'm all for new golfers, but they should be courteous enough to play at slow times, not during the busy time of day.
Tee Boxes
The chorus and greens were in very good shape. The tea boxes were a nightmare.
Hardest Holes
The hardest jokes are hole 6 then 7. Hole 2 is not the hardest hole. I don’t think this is my opinion but a fact.
