Great value for money, and mixture of variety of holes

It's a fun course with some interesting holes, level changes, etc. Really enjoyed it!

Having played Farmingbury Hills now around a dozen times, I can say that the course holds up well. All of these nine holes are good ones, and the unusual feature of alternate greens or teeing areas on five, seven, eight and nine–which create what seem like quite different holes—is a nice bonus. Because this is an old course, it’s somewhat short, but there are still two longish four-pars at two and seven; the same goes for the pair of par-threes. But my farorite hole on the course is probably nine, when played as a par-five, largely due to a second shot that requires careful placement, then the approach into a well-elevated, nicely countoured green. The whole is not a formidable test, to be sure, but still a good one.

Conditioning did not live up to the quality of this layout today, as the bunkers are washed out and the tees in need of more grass. The roughs are very dense after the rains and need mowing. Fairways are average overall as a few are patchy. The greens are good if a little long.

Pace was also slow today.

Nonetheless, this layout has become a go-to nine for me, and I plan to play it several times more every summer in the future. Definitely recommended, as it’s usually in better condition.

They were out of golf carts, so you had to wait for someone to come off the course to get a cart. Most people missed their tee time waiting for a cart. Some holes were backed up with 3 foursomes. Seemed like no management or care for customer satisfaction. Avoid this place.

No Ranger to monitor pace of play. Golfers take advantage of this. Play agonizing slow, I have observed for two weeks golfers in threesomes and foursomes playing two balls each. No consideration for groups behind them. Just plain rude.

One of the owners of the course was yelling and being very disrespectful to someone who just finished paying to play the course. My ball landed on the hole they were playing so I ask if I can take my shot and he begun to yell at me to pick up my ball and get out of here and that he wasn’t going to tell me twice , mind you they didn’t even tee off yet.

Fun course. Great for the price. Can’t wait to go back.

Gave this course a one star review based on an experience we had with one of the owners (specifically David). We booked 18 holes for the day with four players and two carts. We played through our first 9 and as we got back to the first hole to play through for our second 9 we noticed a big crowd waiting to tee off. One gentleman stated they were in a tournament waiting for carts to come back. We approached the tee time attendant to notify him that we were ready to go through to the “back 9” yet he said we would have to wait because there is a tournament starting and we “were late for our back 9 tee time”. To our surprise we had no idea there was even a tournament that day let alone that we had to be on the first tee box for our second round at a specific time. That was ridiculous and never have I heard such a thing. Again it didn’t state those specific directions or times in the confirmation email we received. In addition, it didn’t state it on their social media nor were we told about this event when we got there from the beginning. One of the tournament players was so nice and suggested we play before them. As one of our members approached the tee box, this random man (not knowing he was part owner) rushed up to us, whistled at us and snapped his fingers toward us, starting “are you the players trying to play through? Nope. Not happening. Get off the box and come to me.” The way he approached us was rude, unprofessional, and embarrassing due to the fact he didn’t introduce himself, he was abrupt with his actions and overall very arrogant about the issue. Even some Tournament players waiting said he was rude and didn’t handle that properly. While talking and dealing with David in the shop, I asked him why weren’t those times blocked off on the reservation site then and if he posted the tournament details on social media. He stated yes it was posted everywhere yet I looked back and he definitely lied. He stated we needed to have played the first 9 holes in at least two hours to make the tee time for the second round of 9. We are beginner/intermediate players who took our time, enjoyed the game, and went along the pace of everyone else who was out there that day I told him. Again we were annoyed. We requested a refund yet he declined that and stated we would get a rain check instead. We were astonished because yet again it didn’t state anywhere in their office they do not give refunds. Why would we want to come back after this experience anyways. It was not welcoming at all! David could have easily gave a refund and approached us in a nicer manner to avoid this headache of a conflict.
