One of my favorite courses to play. Only a few difficult holes but I’m still new to the game. (3yrs) and they offer military discount.

The course is only a 9 hole course but if you I want to play 18 you basically go back to the same holes. they do have a different tee area for some of the 2nd nine but it’s very confusing as there’s no signs or directions.

My girlfriend and I came to play 6/20/22. My review is not regarding the course or its conditions, but rather how we were treated by the owner of the course and his group who were playing behind us.

To start, we are beginner golfers and were paired with an intermediate/strong golfer who we quickly developed a solid rapport with. We are no strangers to pace of play and often just play a scramble together. We do not want to hold anyone up at all. However, there were two VERY slow groups in front of us which is fine, it’s a public course and people like us are just trying to get out there and have fun.

Well, not everyone…

At the first tee box we were told by the owner that if his group caught up to us that he expected us to let him and his group play through and how he didn’t want to be stuck behind us all day. Ok, I understood that, fine. We let groups play through us all the time if there is a significant difference in skill level.

After reaching the second tee we were quickly stuck behind two other groups, one of whom had not tee’d off yet. This was the theme of the day, continually waiting to tee off. At numerous tees we were greeted by the owner and his group questioning us about it the group in front of us was playing slowly and what was going on. One member of his group even took it upon himself to separate himself from the group and tell us that he didn’t feel the same way which we actually appreciated. After waiting 5-10 minutes at one tee, we were told by the owner that if we wouldn’t tee off that his group would. The group in front of us was within driving distance for, at the bare minimum, the player we were partnered with, if not me as well.

This attitude towards us and the animosity really took away from the day. And, the owner’s idea of pace of play (which mind you we were abiding by, just stuck behind two slow groups) apparently includes driving the ball within 10-30 yards of us after we just reach our balls.

However, nothing prepared me for the 9th hole. After waiting a significant amount of time we finally tee’d off but again had to wait as the group in front was still in the fairway and then the green. I understand waiting is frustrating but frankly I’ll wait all day if it means not hitting someone with a golf ball. The owner’s group felt differently, tee’d off again while we were waiting to even hit our second shots all the while screaming at us to “move” in addition to other comments I couldn’t make out. I yelled back to them that the group in front of us was still on the green and was met with one member of his group yelling “I’ll give you a hundred bucks if you can even reach the green.”

Pace of play is one thing, but teeing off in an effort to move us along is absolutely ridiculous. Even worse is when his group knows we can’t do anything about it given the groups in front of us. And, the disrespect was ridiculous. You’d think owning the course you’d hold your conduct as well as the conduct of your group members to a higher standard than most, but not here.

We were planning to play 18 but quit after the 9th hole, asked for a refund and were offered a free play by him which we declined. We will not be coming back.
