Nice course to play.
1st time I've been here, staff is friendly and the club is nice and clean. The course is really nice. Only draw back, there are no markers for red or yellow.
Avoid
This course has its purpose and once NLT is done with the reno it might be worth revisiting again.
For now I dont think I would consider this a golf course as much as its a muddy piece of land with some flag sticks in it.
May be worth a second chance
The course was confusing since the holes and the women’s tee boxes weren’t clearly marked. So it made it a little difficult figuring out where to go. But I’m going to chalk that up to it being the end of the season here in DC and looks like course renovation. So i will revisit in the spring to take another assessment.
Great value for your money
Very forgiving course with an open layout. For 45$ you can’t beat it. Toptracer range is elite. Course itself wasn’t in great condition but like I said, can’t beat it for the price.
Good public course, slowly renovating
They've been slowly rehabbing the course starting with the driving range. Better every time I play it. The price on golf now is higher than booking directly through the course website. You can also book $40 walking rates on the website not offered by Golfnow. Cart rental is how they gouge you at this course.
THE COURSE WAS NOT MAINTIANED. AND WE QUIT AFTER FOUR HOLES BECAUSE THE PACE WAS SOOOOO VERY SLOW IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A 6 HOUR ROUND IF WE STAYED....
Beautiful greenery and cool layout
I enjoyed playing this course and was impressed by the lovely greenery throughout . The greens could have been faster, but I got used to them after a few holes. Strategically placed hazards made it challenging. My one complaint is that it is a bit unrealistically difficult for women. Long holes are ok, but some of the tee placements for the forward tees could have been closer to the holes . An easy fix to get more women to play (which should be the goal of any course :)
Not worth the money
Course is in awful condition. Even for a public course it is not worth the cost. Fairways are rock hard, like hitting off a cart path with turf on them. Many parts of the fairways and greens are barren with just dirt. You’re almost better off hitting from the rough as the grass is at least a little softer and more forgiving.
Rough
Not much good to say about this course. If you simply want to say you are playing golf, then go play it. No real cart paths, no signs between holes and only a few on a number of Tee's. I will say the layout has some interesting holes and some blind shots, having a GPS will definitely help. Greens were in pretty bad shape and FW's had bare spots throughout. I played with a very nice older man, so atleast the company was good. Won't be going back.
The course is fair
The course conditions has some ways to go. I’ve played it for years though not recently until July 2nd and it shows progress. I certainly would play it again however the green fee with cart was $57 on the Golfnow app and I thought that was a bit much for the shape it’s in. Oh well….
7-Some
Conditions weren’t great but not bad at all for a muni. Greens were in good shape and rolled true. Decent layout, a little short. Biggest issue is there was a group of 7 playing two groups ahead of us. Really wish the staff would do something to prevent this as this really ruins the day for the rest of the groups on the course
GOLFPASS Non-benefit
I rarely if ever use GOLFPASS or GOLFNOW but I did when I saw the email featuring this course in my email. I've wanted to play this historic course for sometime and thought this would be a good opportunity. Little did I know that it would've been $15 cheaper if I'd just walked up on the day of play and paid regular price. Don't see the benefit of this app at this point.
