Buffalo Run Golf Course
About
Buffalo Run Golf Course is a locally acclaimed 18-hole, municipal course in Commerce City. The links-style layout covers 7,411 yards from its longest tees with a par of 72. Designed by Keith Foster, there are challenging elements such as water hazards and bunkers that come into play on the course. The wind creates difficulty on this golf course. Buffalo Run Golf Course's front nine is less challenging than the back nine but it builds up good practice for the second half of the game. One hole to note is the demanding 13th hole. It is a par-3 that has a well-placed bunker near the green.

Difficult Course - course could use work
Difficult course, super fun layout. Lots of dead spots throughout the course and on a lot of the greens. HUGE amounts of air traffic overhead. Denver intl. airport probably launches a plane a minute if not more. Noisy on the back 9 with constant construction of new houses.
Rough review
The rough was too deep to even find a ball. If you did you still couldn’t get a club on the ball. The greens are also in not great shape with some bald spots.
The green were slow, but consistent. The weed/rough is miserable. There are 3 or 4 holes that there are no fairways.
There was cold water on all hole whish was welcomed on a hot day
A pleasant time
I got behind a couple of walkers on the front nine, but had the course to myself on the back nine. There were very few golfers at the time I played (1:50 tee).
Greens were in rough shape and had a lot of burnt grass. The course as a whole didn’t look like it has been maintained in a few days. Got stuck playing behind a group of 5 playing from the tips who insisted they wait until the group ahead of them finished every hole before they teed off only to see them hit the ball 30 yards. When we brought it to the marshal’s attention they said they would keep an eye on it and then never saw them again. I usually enjoy playing this course but this was a forgettable experience.
Buffalo run
Friendly staff in both the clubhouse and restaurant. Golf a little slow, some of the greens and fairways are dirt.
I will not play this course again
The fairways are in terrible shape. Course overall is poorly maintained with excessive burn spots and hardpan on all fairways. I played about a month ago and contributed the poor conditions to early season. But after a month now the conditions have gotten worse. Poor value for the money. I do not recommend.
Needs maintenance
The course clearly is not maintained well. The fairways were patchy. The roughs unkept. And the greens has many bare spots. Will never play this course again.
Terrible
We had two men behind us whistling at us while we putted, threatening us with violence if we don’t pick it up. Spent max 10 min a hole. Talked to Ryan the “manager” and he said that he doesn’t have the power to give us a refund or a round of golf and gave us range Tokens. Pretty laughable considering the harassment and threats of violence we received from the two drunks behind us. Nice course but remember it’s still commerce city. Poor management on Ryan’s end I will be telling everyone to stay away from an establishment that is okay with this behavior.
Nice track needs water
Super nice people....we waited on all 9 tee boxes but only for 4 or 5 minutes each time...
I went low.... 4 over ....5 pars 4 bogeys 19 putts.....ugh
I was asked to read putts after draining some five footers
my 7 iron was on point
My shirt and short combo were on point and admired....
No beer cart which was disappointing...
brought out my 3 wood for the first time in 3 years ...it is back in the garage......
greens and fairways very dry....had good runs from low trajectory shots....
My shoes were top notch ...no one disputed this....
Overall proud of the course and the Buffalo Burger after the round was A+!
Good course
I was a little hesitant after reading some recent reviews of this course, but it it still early in the year and I'm trying to see a variety of courses.
Buffalo Run has a good practice set up. You get your cart and go to the range/practice area, which is also right by the first tee. I was able to get a full warm up and be right there when it was my tee time.
The course itself played as I would expect from most front range municipal courses at this time of year. A lot of good play with the occasional ground under repair or places where you may need to move your ball a foot or two.
The greens were very slow for what I have been playing lately. They look very good other than a few patchy areas, I'm guessing I caught the course trying to grow them out just a touch before they get cut down. Reads were good, but I would love to play them when they are quick.
Overall I really enjoyed the course, it had a links feel with some dangerous pot bunkers, a variety of challenging holes and great weather.
