Fresh Meadow Golf Course

Decent value for the money. Some greens are in bad shape, but this is a good course to get some practice in on.

Course was good for the price. Greens ok speed and pretty good condition. Good variety of holes.

Greens were bumpy, full of weeds, and some had more than one hole. Almost every golf cart seat was ripped and filthy. Some holes you could not tell the difference between fairway and rough. A couple holes had range balls all over them so you know you had to worry about getting hit. This is the first golf course Ive left before finishing.

Greens in bad shape. There’s a sign at the clubhouse that says “bunkers are considered ground under repair’……What??!! Dirty water in the ball washers. Should i go on?? I think they are simply biding their time since they don’t own the land and might be at the end of the term? Too bad as they have a good central location and close to Chicago.

Apparently course is closing at the end of the season, so not doing a lot of work. The fairways were extremely narrow like they didn't want to mow too much. Frustrati ng. Overall the course was good, but sand traps have very little sand. Our foursome still had a great time.

I understand the course is on borrowed time as the lease was extended through this year. But by all accounts, the course is already done for. The bare minimum of upkeep is evident. The recent rains are to thank for any greenery. But the summer heat will kill it off. Oh yeah, no point in trying to play out of traps unless you want to break a club. Management has given up. I wish it would just close. As for the driving range. Well, it is one. But a stiff wind could knock it all over.

Played on 5/17. Lost so many balls in the fairway due to the grass being over 4”. Pace of play was so slow due to this, all groups were spending extended time searching for balls due to poor course conditions.

I could maintain this course better with a pair of scissors and a bottle of water.

The course was great. Only thing is the grass wasn’t cut and it was soo easy to lose your balls in the fairway.

I rarely leave reviews but the course is borderline unplayable. Fairways are like most courses’ first cut. The rough is anywhere from ankle high to knee high, and I don’t mean intentionally challenging but rather totally unkempt. Read the other reviews and believe them.
