Fresh Meadow Golf Course

This is our favorite course close by, they say it is closing down to put in a cemetery. Please no, we love this course.

The course may have not been kept up with well as far as conditions, but if you go during the week when the prices reflect you get what you pay for.

Took 7 hours for 18. Place covered in geese poop. Bunkers are grassy and hard as a rock. No beverage cart or food sold here

Had not played Fresh Meadows in five years. Then, the course was in good condition, from the fairways to the rough to the greens. This time, we should have been tipped off by the poor conditions of the practice greens. So many bare spots and rough grass. Found the same on the course. The rough was brutal. If you were just one foot or more off the fairway, good luck finding your ball. We had to opt for the "if it should have been findable" rule...no penalty stroke for dropping another ball. Sorry to say, crossing this golf course off my list.

There was a 20-30 minute delay and then the front 9 took 2.5 hours. I ended up leaving after 9 holes.

Play was very slow - was about 25 minutes behind booked tee time. No ball washers ate any holes available.

There was no water available, only beer and soda. the only food available were candy and small bags of chips. No beverage cart going around the course, minimal staff at the location. Pace was extremely slow and other patrons would steal your golf balls.

They were running about 20 minutes behind schedule and the pace of play was brutally slow. Between the delayed start and the 2.5 hour front 9, I decided to leave and not play the back. The course was not in good shape and the fairways were hardly discernible from the rough and the greens were so hard shots that hit the green were bouncing off the greens.
