Great course, but not taken care of
If they actually put effort and took care of this course, it would be one of the best courses in Chicagoland. It has a really fun layout but the bunkers are like cement and the grass is not evenly cut. Overall had a good time
Rough shape but quick round with good layout
My buddy and I were disappointed in the course conditions which are not good at all, don't hit out of the bunkers! But enjoyed the layout and the time to play 18 as we were able to really move around the golf course quickly.
Work in progress
The course was in good condition but the club house was shut down and there were no refreshments to be purchased at the turn and the drinks cart did not come around until 2PM when we were on the 17th hole.
COW PASTURE WITH NO MARSHALLING
THEY DON'T CUT THE GRASS. THIS CAUSES SLOW PLAY BECAUSE GOLFERS ARE SEARCHING FOR GOLF BALLS. ONE GROUP OF 4 KIDS WAS BACKING UP THE FRONT NINE ON THE 3RD HOLE. THERE WAS NO MARSHALL. i HAD TO TERMINATE MY ROUND ON THE 4TH HOLE BECAUSE IT WAS SO PAINFULLY SLOW. THE CLUBHOUSE IS A TOOL SHED. THE TEE BOXES ARE BEYOND REPAIR.
Very Disappointing
Paid for a foursome at full price ($150.00) and arrived to find a dilapidated clubhouse that was closed for use. Checked in at a shed by the 10th hole.
The course was not great, not terrible, and the kid working at check in was nice enough.
The issue here is, if you’re going to lack the clubhouse amenities, if not discount the prices, at least advertise that the place is undergoing renovations.
As presently operated, the course isn’t worth being at the same price point as other courses offering a nice and clean full offering of amenities.
Overall, terrible golfing experience largely due to the horrible conditions of the course.
Needs maintenance or lower price
Things I liked:
-course had a good layout, not just straight shots and bunkers were well placed
-cart guy rolled around at least 4 times throughout our round of 18
-plenty of port o potty’s
Things I disliked:
-No clubhouse which is not advertised
-for the price ($60/round), the fairways had no roll, were not well maintained, and the strategically placed bunkers were more mud than sand, which made them exceptionally difficult
-greens were not well maintained, there were foam inserts where old holes were
If this was a $30-40/18 course, I wouldn’t have complaints but not the case.
JT Evaluation
Course in good shape in many areas. Fairway play well. Not sure how I feel about the tall brown grass yet a little unforgiven. Greens look and putted well. I was very happy to start at my tee time. Maybe some day have a beverage cart as a ad.
Great local value
I play this course at least 5 times a season. It plays fast and pretty forgiving. This visit i found the greens in the best condition I have seen for years. The tee boxes were in good shape too. I also like that the grounds crew has let the grass grow in between the holes making it bit more challenging. The old club house is being taken down and looks like a new one is being put up so well look forward to that. Overall its a great value.
Value, accessible course
Aside from mowing, the course is not well tended to. But for the weekend and mid handicap golfer it’s a solid choice. The traps are cement, grass is dry and tees are in rough shape. But the cost gets me back for regular play. There are much better options not far away for additional cost but they are much busier. I hope the ownership brings the course back to its potential beginning with the clubhouse of horrors which could fall any day.
Not recommended
The greens were awful it was like putting on a bumpy road ball was jumping 2” of the putting surface when putting.
Sucks
Horrible greens horrible tee boxes grass overgrown overall just not well taken care of
