Good Alternative
Played here on a Wed as a single. Got paired with two other golfers and had a great day. Course is resortish, but interesting. Liked the back better than the front. Course and greens were in good shape, other than two of them that had been plugged and sanded. A good alternative to other more expensive ones in the area. Now the bad, driving range was closed, no snack bar and the Paco’s Tacos onsite also closed. Apparently Wed was local morning. Anyway, Still had a good time here and would play again.
Great Course - Good Value
This is a great course and good value in Poipu area. The course was in good shape with enough challenge to make a fun round.
Fun and challenging
Challenging course because of mixed grasses in the rough. Greens very firm so tough to land it close. Lots of ruins to look at. Starter very helpful and nice. GPS a little basic and small but yardages marked on sprinkles. Will play it again!
Slow play
Played behind what appeared to be a foursome but only three played which was behind a foursome by hole 7 we could no longer see foursome and by back nine we never seen another group ahead of us they wouldn’t let groups play thru and course had no one controlling slow play they were drunk and forgot clubs on several holes would have been great place playing if slow groups had been monitored
Buyer beware
I chose this course based on proximity to my hotel and GN positive reviews. The track was very good. Ocean views on some holes. Fairways playable. Greens slow as mentioned in previous reviews. However Club house, range, carts and other infrastructure were barely on par with about every muni I have played. A 5-some plugged up play by the 4th hole and didn’t wave our 2 some by, while pelting balls left and right and driving their carts on top of bunkers and greens. I was greeted with shrugged shoulders when I brought this to the staff s attention. Instead of coming back I’m playing Poipu Bay after noon for $70 more. This course not worth $135 for visitors. Fine for the resident rates, I guess.
The course needs a marshal to keep groups moving we played behind a threesome that was so slow groups behind us left they wouldn’t let anyone play thru either everything else about course was great
Excellent value for a fun course
Played just after noon. Staff was friendly, let me go off sooner than tee rime as very uncrowded. Course was fun and an interesting layout. Greens pretty slow for my taste but in good shape. Range was pretty basic with beater range balls, but no big deal. Really enjoyed it and played 18 in 2 1/2 hrs!
Solid course, good pace of play.
Everything was great to include lunch after at Palos Tacos. One issue we had was getting lost a little on the front nine. Ended up playing 7 for 3 and 3 for 7 as signage stunk. Also could not find 4.
Better than expected
Course was nice and challenging. Conditions were better than anticipated.
Great layout.
This is a bit of a hidden gem. Robert Trent Jones designed. Pretty challenging, but friendly too. Carts are a bit rough, the cooler on the cart was full of ice. 👍
I would also recommend the Mexican restaurant to a bite to eat after. Good bar food.
For the price of golf it was good compared to the other courses in the area. The course had some challenges to it which I like and had some great views
Layout was good
Great course.
Played 18 in 3 hours
No water except a pond on 18
Some carries over lava rocks
All 3 aspects greens, fairways and tee boxes were very playable
The rental clubs, Callaway, were in very good condition
