Pine Hills Golf Club

About
Opened in 1924, Pine Hills Golf Course in Ottawa, Ill. is one of the oldest courses in the area. The course is also distinctive because of its stunning landscape, which is complete with valleys, hills, and bluffs all covered with hundreds of trees. Despite being only a nine-hole layout, it's one of the most formidable rounds of golf you'll find in central Illinois. The design uses many traditional elements but it stands up to modern full-length courses. The terrain provides many of the layout's challenges. Tall pines and giant oak trees line the fairways and the different elevation changes require careful course management, as do the elevated greens. Water also comes into play frequently throughout Pine Hills Golf Course. You're only safe from both trees and water on two holes

Only truly negative thing I have to say about this course is that it doesn’t favor my draw biased shot (right handed) but that’s just because I suck. I love this course. Challenging on most holes, pin placements are usually really favorable, and I’m a big fan of the scenery.
Tough place to play
$50 for the same 9 twice - and it wasn’t fun the first time.
First time here
Not a bad track. My disappointment is that it was a nine hole course. You play the first nine from one set of tees and the second nine from a different set.
BEWARE...no cart girl (it was 97 degrees when we played). Also...no water stations.
That said, pace of play was insane...18 holes in under 3 hours. I don't think I have ever had that happen before.
Great Course, Friendly Staff
Well priced and in great shape. The restaurant is very good also and the staff is awesome.
Nice, but basic.
Nice course. But nothing spectacular. Holes somewhat average. Greens were very nice. If you are close and want a reasonable course to play this is it. Probably nothing worth going out of your way for. Young lady in the pro shop was very nice.
Great course
This was a great course, very well maintained, fairways were above average, greens were in excellent condition and true. Will play again if in the area.
Allows 8 somes out to slow the whole course down.
Pace of play was almost unplayable. They let 8 somes out to slow the whole course down for hours. It was brutal. Won’t be back.
Horrible pace of Play
This course was decent. Wouldn’t pay any more than 30 bucks here. Bar looked nice and staff was super friendly. Pace of play was brutal. They did nothing and allowed a group to play as an 8 some and slow the whole course up. 8 people teeing off per hole, brutal. Will not be back.
