About
Klein Creek Golf Club sprawls across acres of rolling prairieland in the western suburbs of Chicago. Trees frame the layout's gentle doglegs and tall prairie grasses border the fairways. It is a golf course that offers both beautiful scenery and a challenging round. Several lakes also dot the landscape, coming into play on almost every hole. The abundant water hazards are often coupled with spacious, intricately designed bunkers that are also usually paired with wood retaining walls. Contoured mounding frames the fairways and greens as well. Klein Creek Golf Club's layout is not easy by any means but it's fair, offering room for error on even the tougher holes with wide fairways and generous landing areas. There are a variety of approach options for the greens as well, providing great risk-reward opportunities.

Missing Range Finder
Played KC with my son on Sunday, 8/9. We got the front nine in, but at the turn, the weather shifted and we were held off to continue until the storm passed. We took our range finders and speakers and tucked them into the front of the cart with towels. They moved our bags off to the side near a set of stairs. Well the storm was pretty bad for a good hour. When we finally got back out to our bags, they were totally drenched. Then we went to find our cart and when we finally found it my bushnell range finder was missing. I left my info with the course and I never received a response to rectify this. I would expect a from the course either way and some sort of compensation. I ended up purchasing a replacement for $400. Needless to say, I will never be back to KC.
Yikes, overpriced on everything
For $100 bucks a guy, I expected way better. The greens were terribly slow, the grass around the greens was destroyed and super hard pan at times all over, especially near out of bounds and along fairway. Idk, just not a fan at all because the greens were like playing Villa Olivia. Even worse than there, Super furry, not true. I’ve played 50 courses in the area better than this. The only thing worth it is the people. Everything is expensive and you’ll spend an arm and a leg. Not impressed unfortunately, I would say the one person who stood out as a leader is David. Whatever he says, go with that, cheers!
Great day for golf
Course was generally in good shape. A couple of sand traps could use a little love but otherwise the course played well. Staff was friendly and we finished in just at 4 hours, so happy with the pace of play.
Klein Creek
Klein Creek was a fair test of golf for a 17 handicap. We enjoyed it and will be back.
Still Needs some Work
The layout of this course is very good, very challenging. The tees need a lot of work. The rest of the course is getting better. The greens were a 7.5 out of 10. Hardly anyone playing but still took too much time to play. That probably has more to do with golfers' lack of etiquette. After a call to the pro shop during the round, a ranger did come out, get involved and speed up play...much to the dismay of a slow 4some.
2026 course conditions
Overall the course is in good shape. However the tee boxes are in brutal condition, none are level, grass is in terrible condition and no one fills divots. All of them need to be worked on, leveled and replaced. Doesn’t look like they did any work on the in the fall to get them ready for this season. For an $80 green fee you would expect better. the round took about 5 hrs, they wouldn’t allow 90 deg rule which severely slowed down the pace of play. You can watch several groups in front of us running back and forth from cart to other side of fairway and the fairways were dry, sun was out.
The worst experience
Even though the group behind us was far away, the golf course marshal kept rushing us to play faster, so we couldn’t concentrate on our game. It was the worst experience.
Shorter but challenging
Pretty fun course. A lot of water holes. Requires a decent ability to control your ball. Unfortunately there is no driving range to warm up at. They do have a net to hit Into but doesnt really let you get a good feel for your swing. They do have a chipping and putting area. Overall the course got the better of me but I didn't have my best. Will have to come back and give it another crack.
Hot Days
These guys supplied complimentary waters and cold towels on a HOT day which was huge since I played with my dad and his dad. Don’t usually write reviews but that was too nice of them and something you don’t see at many courses anymore keep it up! -KJ
Great course and staff; slow pace of play.
Klein Creek is an excellent course with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would suggest that they employ a couple of on course rangers to keep slow groups moving at a reasonable pace.
