Klein Creek Golf Club

About
Klein Creek Golf Club sprawls across acres of rolling prairieland in the western suburbs of Chicago. Trees frame the layout's gentle doglegs and tall prairie grasses border the fairways. It is a golf course that offers both beautiful scenery and a challenging round. Several lakes also dot the landscape, coming into play on almost every hole. The abundant water hazards are often coupled with spacious, intricately designed bunkers that are also usually paired with wood retaining walls. Contoured mounding frames the fairways and greens as well. Klein Creek Golf Club's layout is not easy by any means but it's fair, offering room for error on even the tougher holes with wide fairways and generous landing areas. There are a variety of approach options for the greens as well, providing great risk-reward opportunities.

Klein Creek is solid
I played in a league at Klein Creek years ago, the course conditions are always good. It is a well maintained course. Check in was easy, the starter was friendly.
$90 course is absurd
Pretty decent and tough course, but should never ever ever be $90. The conditions on a good number of holes and the price you pay don’t add up.
Fun course
Very nicely kept, challenging layout, great scenery.
Another great experience
Always look forward to playing this track. It’s been a little while since I’ve last played here and let me tell you the ongoing improvements never stop. Played on a scorcher of a day and they had a ranger driving around with ice waters free of charge I can’t tell you the last time I’ve been to a course that’s done that! As far as the course goes the condition just gets better and better, the fairways are well maintained, the tee boxes are fresh, and the greens are rolling great. The new Super along with his grounds crew are dialed in! Also noticed some work being done on the paths, looked great so far I’m excited to see the finished product.
Not worth the $$
Cons:
*Horrible cart paths with stones and gravel, not paved
*No clear signs of what hole you’re on or where the next hole is.
* No ball washers at any tee boxes
* No water stations throughout course
* No cart service
* Halfway house didn’t have ANY food at 11am
* No GPS carts
Pros:
*Friendly staff and rangers
* greens were in good condition and rolled true
* fairways were in good condition
* rough was thick
* handicap indexes incorrect and seemed completely opposite. 1 was easiest and 17 was 2nd hardest..
Getting Better
Course & amenities much better but still need work in some bunkers and unplayable areas.
Staff was excellent but wish they didn’t change food menu.
Overpriced
The course condition and staff were really good. The greens rolled well and true. The bad.. the whole course is surrounded by water and OB. One small mistake and your in a ton of trouble. Not fun. No driving range and the chipping area not well kept off. Food and drinks are also super over priced. I got two double vodka lemonades and 2 hot dogs for $60+ dollars at the turn. Shocked to see price.
Amazing staff
Staff was so friendly and even was handing out ice cold water due to it being 90+ degrees out. Also if looked like improvements were being made throughout the course including the cart path, tee boxes, and more. Overall great experience.
Course is work in progress in some areas
Greens ran true and many holes are very scenic with water on 14 of the18 holes. Re-working of many bunkers into grass spots is early in the process. Sand in actual bunkers is soft and playable. Overall a nice course
Priced yourselves out of range
This course hit rock bottom a few years ago, but some of us loved it and continued to play there. Then it was purchased, and money poured in and it was brought back to great standards. But now, they limit public assess with the focus on their members and no longer even offer senior rates on weekends. We had a group that has 18 members, all of whom have come out to play there over the years. But no longer.
Good luck with your plans for membership as your base, but you will not be seeing our group there again anytime soon.
I would be happy to give it a 4 rating, but with the prices changes in the last year or two,,, its a 1. Sorry.
Some good some bad
For the price of this course you should have a GPS and that dirt sand is comical at this price.
Klein Creek, still a farm
Needs a lot of improvements for the greens fees they are asking. Not worth the money. The carts don’t even have GPS
