St. Andrews Golf & Country Club - St. Andrews Course
About
Opened in 1926, in the "Classical ERA" of U.S. course development, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has been recognized as the oldest family owned-operated golf course in Illinois.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club was originally built in 1926 as a rival to the Chicago Golf Club. Since then, the club has built its own reputation and stands out for its two championship golf courses and top-ranked practice center. The St. Andrews Course is the club's original layout before the Joe Jemsek Course was added in 1929. It is also the longer of the two golf courses. The club and course draw their name from the famous Scottish club known as the "home of golf," but the course is far from being a seaside links. Instead, the mostly flat layout weaves through mature trees. The golf course offers a challenge with tight, tree-lined doglegs and large, contoured greens framed with sand bunkers. It has a memorable finish with a par 4 that features a water hazard along the entire right side of the fairway.

Overall Great Value
St. Andrews Golf Course was well designed and maintained. Staff were friendly. Has a lot to offer with 36 holes. Only issues I had were no ball wash stations near tee boxes and the turn is kind of far from the clubhouse if you play the first 18. Everything else was great.
Perfect late season round
Always enjoy playing an old style such as this, and the course conditions were terrific considering it was mid November
Horrible Pace of Play
Overall good course with a great practice area but holy moly do they have POP issues. We were the last public tee time let out in front of a collegiate golf tournament and we spent most of the afternoon waiting on a log jam of horrible pace in front of us.
The course is usually in decent shape. Punched greens were way over sanded on some holes but that’s fall golf for you.
They need to invest in Marshalls on this course and be stricter about keeping a good pace.
Was a great day, only thing that would make it better......greens were just aerated.
Nice golf club… slow pace
very nice practice facilite, course is in good shape i. Général. tee boxes need some serious love… but 5+ hours is too slow
5 hr and 11 min Round
Pace of play was terrible, 5 hours and 11 minutes. Tagmarshal system not used by the many marshals that are driving around the course doing nothing.
