Course Coming Back!!
I've played the course before I had a great time. The course is coming back and being well maintained. Keep cutting the grass and keep the greens looking good. Make sure golfers respect the greens by fixing their divots. I would recommend the course to other golfers. I like the elevated greens it makes it more challenging on your approach shots. Golfers go out and try the course you'll have a great time.
Hidden Gem, but I'll let you in on the secret...
Was a blast from tee #1 to 18th green. Amazing greens and elevated tee shots made the round a blast. Forgiving fairways and fridge cut to glassy smooth greens.
Bunkers need a little work but that seems consistent for the price.
Amazing course! I'll be back!
your usual public course
Played Tuckaway many times in my life. Stopping the ball on the greens have always been a challenge. Other than that it plays the same as any other public course. They used to have 4 sets of tee boxes. Blue, white, gold and red. Now they only have 2 sets. They have put the blue and white together and the gold and red. Now as a senior you have to decide if you want to play the women's or the tips.
Great shape
Course is in great condition especially the greens. A few cicadas on several holes but very enjoyable round.
Dan Schneider
Slow pace due to group in front of us. Course is great though., esp the greens. Staff friendly too.
Great value for the money
Played on a beautiful busy Friday afternoon for a great price. Course was in great shape. The only negative was the pace of play. There was a foursome of teenage boys in front of us taking 3-4 shots each off of the tee box and taking way too much time looking for their balls and taking their next shots.
Fair but reasonable
The course was in ok shape. Fair at best. Not many yardage markers on course beside a few faded ones painted on cart path. Some areas overgrown. Greens were in good shape but some tee boxes not so much. Pace of play was slow but my twosome was able to jump 2 foursomes at halfway point. Price was reasonable for this course. Course difficulty was fair. Overall fair course . Might play again if the area.
Slow and grumpy
Great course “tucked away” in Crete. I live the rolling hills throughout the course. We were backed up 3 groups at each hole… Don’t try to make a casual conversation w/ the pro shop guy or starter, we got not laughs or words all day. If I’m paying over $30 for this place I’m looking elsewhere.
Decent, Could be Better
The bad: Lack of carts (we had to wait), no rangers, very slow play, too many groups of 2 that should have been paired up. Front nine took almost 3 hours to finish, which caused us to play it again to avoid playing behind slow pokes. Several sand traps had weeds growing in them.
The good: Enjoyable layout, great greens and fairways, rough was a little long but not too bad, cute cart girl, good brat at the turn.
6 hour Saturday round
No ranger on the course on a busy Saturday. Driving range no longer available. No actual food beyond burgers, brats & dogs. Clubhouse needs a serious remodel. As far as the course itself, it's in surprisingly good condition. The rough doesn't LOOK imposing, but it's a bear! Very "grabby". Greens are smallish and challenging. STAY BELOW THE HOLE! I WOULD play again, but never on the weekend.
